Functional ceiling system
Abstract
The invention provides a functional ceiling system ( 1 ) comprising primary channels ( 10 ), secondary channels ( 20 ), generally perpendicular thereto, and hanger brackets ( 40 ) for connecting the primary ( 10 ) and secondary channels ( 20 ). The hanger bracket ( 40 ) includes hanging means ( 41, 61 ) for hanging said ceiling system ( 1 ) from an original ceiling. Wings ( 21 ) are provided at the ends of the secondary channels ( 20 ) for insertion in overlapping slots ( 11, 42 ) in the primary channels ( 10 ) and in the hanger bracket ( 40 ), locking the primary channels ( 10 ) and the secondary channels ( 20 ) to the hanger bracket ( 40 ).
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 13 . (canceled)
14 . A functional ceiling system comprising primary channels, secondary channels, generally perpendicular thereto, and hanger brackets for connecting the primary and secondary channels and including hanging means for hanging said ceiling system from an original ceiling, wherein wings are provided at the ends of the secondary channels for insertion in overlapping slots in the primary channels and in the hanger bracket, locking the primary channels and the secondary channels to the hanger bracket.
15 . The functional ceiling system according to claim 14 , wherein the wings provide a locking action of the secondary channels by being bent.
16 . The functional ceiling system according to claim 14 , wherein a connector locks the wings in a bent position by providing a support wall that engages the bent wings.
17 . The functional ceiling system according to claim 16 , wherein the connector is inserted in overlapping slots in the primary channels and the hanger bracket, respectively.
18 . The functional ceiling system according to claim 16 , wherein the connector comprises fins with a broader top portion compared to a base.
19 . The functional ceiling system according to claim 16 , wherein the connector comprises a hooking means, that “pops” over the bent wings.
20 . The functional ceiling system according to claim 16 , wherein the connector is manufactured from plastic, e.g. a thermoplastic.
21 . The functional ceiling system according to claim 14 , wherein the wings comprise locking means that engage locking means on the hanger bracket, to prevent the secondary channels to “pop” upwards.
22 . The functional ceiling system according to claim 14 , wherein hooking means on the hanger bracket and on the secondary channels, respectively, stabilizes the secondary channels.
23 . The functional ceiling system according to claim 14 , wherein side portions of the hanger bracket fits in a space provided between stabilizing portions and a bottom portion of the primary channel, the relative position of the hanger bracket and the primary channel being governed by engagement of projections on the hanger bracket and indentations on the primary channel.
24 . The functional ceiling system according to claim 14 , wherein the wings are provided with bend facilitating means.
25 . The functional ceiling system according to claim 14 , wherein the primary and secondary channels comprise stabilizing portions.
26 . The functional ceiling system according to claim 14 , wherein the hanger bracket is provided with hanging means.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
