Navigation interface

Abstract

A method and apparatus of simplified navigation. A web page is provided having a link to a sister site. The sister site facilitates simplified navigation. Pages from the sister site are served responsive to actuation of the sister site link. In one embodiment, the sister site includes matrix pages to permit matrix navigation.

1 . A machine readable medium with instructions stored therein, which when executed cause a machine to execute a method, comprising:
 displaying a simplified navigation interface for a webpage, the simplified navigation interface provided by a sister site that includes at least a portion of content of the webpage reformatted for display and navigation through the simplified navigation interface on a mobile device or television with navigation options including at least one of manipulating a region of a screen for viewing, zooming, and scrolling.   
     
     
         2 . The machine readable medium of  claim 1 , wherein the simplified navigation interface is formatted for navigation by one or more unique inputs. 
     
     
         3 . The machine readable medium of  claim 1 , wherein the displayed content is selected based, at least in part, on a navigation path of a user. 
     
     
         4 . The machine readable medium of  claim 1 , having further instructions stored therein, which when executed cause the machine to perform further operations, comprising receiving navigation input selections for the simplified navigation interface from a voice recognition system. 
     
     
         5 . The machine readable medium of  claim 1 , having further instructions stored therein, which when executed cause the machine to perform further operations, comprising displaying one or more advertisements on the screen; receiving a user selection of a displayed advertisement; and displaying second content, wherein the second content is associated with the selected advertisement, and wherein the second content is formatted for navigation with unique inputs. 
     
     
         6 . The machine readable medium of  claim 1 , having further instructions stored therein, which when executed cause the machine to perform further operations, comprising receiving navigation input selections for the simplified navigation interface from any one of a remote control, a pointer device, a keypad, and a keyboard. 
     
     
         7 . A machine readable medium with instructions stored therein, which when executed cause a machine to execute a method, comprising:
 providing a simplified navigation interface for a webpage, the simplified navigation interface provided by a sister site that includes at least a portion of content of the webpage reformatted for display and navigation through the simplified navigation interface on a mobile device or television with navigation options including at least one of manipulating a region of a screen for viewing, zooming, and scrolling.   
     
     
         8 . The machine readable medium of  claim 1 , wherein the simplified navigation interface is formatted for navigation by one or more unique inputs. 
     
     
         9 . The machine readable medium of  claim 7 , wherein the reformatted webpage includes on-line content accessed via the Internet, and wherein the on-line content is selected based, at least in part, on a navigation path of a user. 
     
     
         10 . The machine readable medium of  claim 7 , having further instructions stored therein, which when executed cause the machine to perform further operations, comprising receiving navigation input selections for the simplified navigation interface from a voice recognition system. 
     
     
         11 . The machine readable medium of  claim 8 , having further instructions stored therein, which when executed cause the machine to perform further operations, comprising displaying one or more advertisements; receiving a user selection of a displayed advertisement; and displaying second content, wherein the second content is associated with the selected advertisement, and wherein the second content is formatted for navigation with the one or more unique inputs.

The machine readable medium of  claim 7 , having further instructions stored therein, which when executed cause the machine to perform further operations, comprising receiving navigation input selections for the simplified navigation interface from any one of a remote control a pointer device, a keypad, and a keyboard.
