Decorative Wall Mounted Storage Container

Abstract

Disclosed is a decorative wall mounted container system. The system includes a container with an opened front and a pivotal forward cover. The cover has both a closed orientation, overlying the opened front of the container and an opened orientation. The front face of the cover can take the form of a decorative picture, which is displayed when the cover is in the closed orientation. In the opened configuration, the cover is retained at a 90-degree angle relative to the container, such that the rearward face of the cover can be used as a work surface and the contents of the container can be accessed.

1 . A container system comprising:
 a vertical wall within the interior of a room;   a container having a width and sidewalls, the container being mounted upon the vertical wall and at a height such that it is accessible by a user, the container having a closed rearward face and an opened forward face;   a shelf secured within the container, the shelf extending the width of the container and being inclined downwardly towards the rearward face of the container with respect to the sidewalls, the inclined shelf functioning to secure cylindrical rolls of paper;   a cover having front and rear faces, hinges pivotally interconnecting the cover to the container, the cover having a closed orientation wherein the cover is overlying the opened forward face of the container, the cover also having opened orientation wherein the cover is at a 90-degree angle relative to the container;   a decorative picture incorporated on the front face of the cover, wherein when the cover is in its closed orientation, the container is hidden and the picture is visible and wherein when the cover is in its opened orientation the contents of the container are readily accessible and the rearward face of the cover forms a work surface.   
   
   
       2 . The wall mounted container system as described in  claim 1  wherein the decorative picture can be removed from the front face of the cover. 
   
   
       3 . The wall mounted container system as described in  claim 1  wherein female latches are included on the container and male latches are included on the cover and wherein the male and female latches come together to keep the frame in the closed orientation. 
   
   
       4 . The wall mounted container system as described in  claim 1  wherein braces are included between the container and cover to brace the container. 
   
   
       5 . A container system comprising:
 a wall mounted container having sidewalls mounted upon the vertical wall, a closed rearward face and an opened forward face;   an elongated shelf secured within the container, the shelf being inclined downwardly towards the rearward face of the container;   a roll of wrapping paper stored upon the elongated shelf, with the inclination of the shelf being sufficient to maintain the roll upon the shelf;   a cover having front and rear faces, hinges pivotally interconnecting the cover to the container, the cover having a closed orientation wherein the cover is overlying the opened forward face of the container, the cover also having opened orientation wherein the cover is at a 90-degree angle relative to the container;   a decorative picture incorporated on the front face of the cover, wherein when the cover is in its closed orientation, the container is hidden and the picture is visible and wherein when the cover is in its opened orientation the contents of the container are readily accessible and the rearward face of the cover forms a work surface;   a series of rotatable latches mounted about the cover, the latches having a first orientation wherein the decorative picture is secured within the front face of the cover, and a second orientation wherein the decorative picture can be removed from the front face of the cover.   
   
   
       6 . The wall mounted container system as described in  claim 5  wherein female latches are included on the container and male latches are included on the cover and wherein the male and female latches come together to keep the frame in the closed orientation. 
   
   
       7 . The wall mounted container system as described in  claim 5  wherein braces are included between the container and cover to brace the container. 
   
   
       8 . A container system comprising:
 a container having sidewalls mounted upon a vertical wall, the container having a closed rearward face and an opened forward face;   an elongated shelf secured within the container, the shelf being inclined downwardly towards the rearward face of the container;   a cover having front and rear faces, hinges pivotally interconnecting the cover to the container, the cover having a closed orientation wherein the cover is overlying the opened forward face of the container, the cover also having opened orientation wherein the cover is at a 90-degree angle relative to the container;   a decorative picture being removably positioned within the front face of the cover, wherein when the cover is in its closed orientation, the container is hidden and the picture is visible and wherein when the cover is in its opened orientation the contents of the container are readily accessible and the rearward face of the cover forms a work surface.   
   
   
       9 . The wall mounted container system as described in  claim 8  further comprising a series of rotatable latches mounted about the cover, the latches having a first orientation wherein the decorative picture is secured within the front face of the cover, and a second orientation wherein the decorative picture can be removed from the front face of the cover. 
   
   
       10 . The wall mounted container system as described in  claim 8  wherein female latches are included on the container and male latches are included on the cover and wherein the male and female latches come together to keep the frame in the closed orientation. 
   
   
       11 . The wall mounted container system as described in  claim 8  wherein braces are included between the container and cover to brace the container. 
   
   
       12 . The wall mounted container system as described in  claim 8  wherein an additional shelf in mounted within the container and wherein a vertical dowel is mounted upon the shelf for use in storing rolls of ribbon.
