Concrete Pavement Slabs For Streets, Roads Or Highways And The Methodology For The Slab Design
Abstract
A concrete slab where the maximum width value of the slab Dx is determined by the lower measure between the distance D 1 of the front wheels of a model loading truck or by the mean, and the distance D 2 of a rear running gear of the same truck or the mean; the maximum slab length L is determined by the distance between the truck axles or the mean; and the thickness E is determined by the concrete resistance value, in view of anticipated traffic loads, the kind and quality of the base, and the ground type. The design methodology of this concrete slab allows for only one wheel or only one running gear of the truck to touch and move over the slab.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 19 . (canceled)
20 . A concrete slab for pavement in a street, road, or highway and for placement over a prepared sub base with concrete poured on site, wherein the concrete slab is prepared by providing a model truck with a distance D 1 between front wheels, a distance D 2 between rear wheels or a running gear between a set of rear wheels, and a length L between the front and the first rear axle of the set of wheels, and calculating the width, length, and thickness of the slab; wherein the width of the slab is smaller than the smallest of D 1 and D 2 ; the length of the slab is smaller than the length L; and the thickness of the slab is a value E based on a value of strength of the concrete; wherein at all times only one wheel or one set of wheels of the model truck would touch and be supported by the slab.
21 . A concrete slab according to claim 20 , wherein the width of the slab is greater than 0.50 meters.
22 . A concrete slab according to claim 20 , wherein the length of the slab is greater than 0.50 meters.
23 . A concrete slab according to claim 20 , wherein the width of the slab is not larger than half the lane width.
24 . A concrete slab according to claim 20 , wherein the length of the slab is no larger than 3.0 meters.
25 . A concrete slab according to claim 20 , comprising a concrete section having a width larger than the smallest of D 1 and D 2 and a length larger than L, wherein the concrete section is reduced to produce a slab having a width not larger than the smallest of D 1 and D 2 and a length not larger than L.
26 . A concrete slab according to claim 20 , wherein the slab is formed from concrete poured directly on site, wherein the slab in a form of rectangular or square parallelepiped.
27 . A concrete slab according to claim 20 , wherein the width of the slab is greater than 0.70 meters.
28 . A concrete slab according to claim 20 , wherein the length of the slab is no larger than 1.75 meters.
29 . A street, road, or highway comprising concrete slabs and a prepared sub base supporting the slabs, wherein the concrete slabs are prepared by providing a model truck with a distance D 1 between front wheels, a distance D 2 between rear wheels or a running gear between a set of rear wheels, and a length L between the front and the first rear axle of the set of wheels, and calculating the width, length, and thickness of the slabs; wherein the width of the slabs is smaller than the smallest of D 1 and D 2 ; the length of the slabs is smaller than the length L; and the thickness of the slabs is a value E based on a value of strength of the concrete; wherein at all times only one wheel or one set of wheels of the model truck would touch and be supported by each slab.
30 . A street, road, or highway according to claim 29 , wherein the width of the slabs is greater than 0.50 meters.
31 . A street, road, or highway according to claim 29 , wherein the length of the slabs is greater than 0.50 meters.
32 . A street, road, or highway according to claim 29 , wherein the slabs are supported by a concrete pavement sub base the sub base being granular, cement treated, or asphalt treated.
33 . A street, road, or highway according to claim 29 , wherein the width of the slabs is not larger than half the lane width.
34 . A street, road, or highway according to claim 29 , wherein the length of the slabs is no larger than 3.0 meters.
35 . A street, road, or highway according to claim 29 , comprising a concrete section having a width larger than the smallest of D 1 and D 2 and a length larger than L, wherein the concrete section is reduced to produce slabs having a width not larger than the smallest of D 1 and D 2 and a length not larger than L.
36 . A street, road, or highway according to claim 29 , wherein the slabs are formed from concrete poured directly on site, wherein the slabs in a form of rectangular or square parallelepiped.
37 . A street, road, or highway according to claim 29 , wherein the width of the slabs is greater than 0.70 meters.
38 . A street, road, or highway according to claim 29 , wherein the length of the slabs is no larger than 1.75 meters.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
