Abstract
According to one embodiment, an information processing apparatus includes a recovery module which causes a decording module to decode supplementary slice data when it is determined that the value of the information indicating a position of processing target slice data in the image is inappropriate. The recovery module creates the supplementary slice data by editing slice data located upwardly adjacent to the processing target slice in such a manner that information indicating a position thereof in the image is edited into information for the processing target slice.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An information processing apparatus comprising:
an input module configured to input a video stream encoded in macroblocks, each macroblock of n×n pixels, the macroblocks being produced by dividing each image in a matrix form; a decoder configured to decode the video stream by slice, the slice being formed by aligning the macroblocks in row directions; and a decoding controller configured to control the decoder to decode the video stream by slice, the decoding controller comprising: a determination module configured to determine whether a value of position information indicating a position of each slice in the image is appropriate for each slice, the position information being comprised in a header portion of each slice data in the video stream; and a recovery module configured to cause the decoder to decode neighboring slice data when the determination module determines that the value of the position information of target slice data in the image is inappropriate for the target slice, the recovery module creating the neighboring slice data by editing slice data located upwardly adjacent to the target slice in such a manner that the position information of the edited slice data in the image is replaced with the position information of the target slice.
2 . The information processing apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the recovery module of the decoding controller is configured to discard slice data, when the value of the position information of the target slice determined to be inappropriate for the target slice by the determination module is further determined to be inappropriate for any of slices located lower than the target slice.
3 . The information processing apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the recovery module of the decoding controller is configured to recover the target slice data by replacing data of slices, from the target slice to a slice located upwardly adjacent to a slice, with data of the slice located upwardly adjacent to the target slice comprising an appropriate value of the position information, when the value of the position information determined to be inappropriate for the target slice by the determination module is appropriate to one of slices located lower than the target slice.
4 . The information processing apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the decoding controller further comprising:
a checking module configured to check slice data in the video stream by each macroblock; and a second recovery module configured to cause the decoder to decode neighboring slice data when the checking module detects an error in a macroblock, the 5 second recovery module is configured to create the neighboring slice data by replacing the macroblock comprising the detected error and immediately subsequent macroblocks in a slice with macroblocks immediately above the macroblock comprising the detected error and the immediately subsequent macroblocks in a slice upwardly adjacent to the slice comprising the macroblock comprising the detected error, and by editing the position information in such a manner that the position addresses the macroblocks in the target slice.
5 . The information processing apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the input module is configured to receive digital broadcast program data comprised in a television broadcast signal as the video stream.
6 . The information processing apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the input module is configured to receive the video stream from a server connected via a computer network.
7 . The information processing apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the video stream is encoded with a method compliant with the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) 2 standard.
8 . An information processing apparatus comprising:
an input module configured to receive a video stream encoded in macroblocks, each macroblock of n×n pixels, the macroblock being produced by dividing each image in a matrix form; a decoder configured to decode the video stream in the macroblocks; and a decoding controller configured to control the decoder to decode the video stream in the macroblocks, the decoding controller comprising: a checking module configured to check the video stream in macroblocks; and a recovery module configured to cause the decoder to decode neighboring macroblock data when the checking module detects an error in a macroblock in an image being a decoding target, the recovery module creating the neighboring macroblock data by editing macroblock data located upwardly adjacent to the target macroblock in such a manner that position information indicating a position of the target macroblock in the image is replaced with the position information of the target macroblock.
9 . The information processing apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the recovery module of the decoding controller is configured to recover the target macroblock by replacing the target macroblock and the immediately subsequent macroblocks in a frame with data of a macroblock located upwardly adjacent to the target macroblock.
10 . The information processing apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the checking module of the decoding controller is configured to check whether an error value not comprised in a Huffman coding table occurs during Huffman coding of the variable length data.
11 . The information processing apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the checking module of the decoding controller is configured to check whether a number of skip macroblocks exceeds a predetermined value.
12 . The information processing apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the input module is configured to receive digital broadcast program data comprised a television broadcast signal as the video stream.
13 . The information processing apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the input module is configured to receive the video stream from a server connected via a computer network.
14 . The information processing apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the video stream is encoded with a method compliant with the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) 2 standard.
15 . A recovery processing method of an information processing apparatus comprising a graphics accelerator configured to decode an encoded video stream by predetermined partial unit, the method comprising:
checking the input video stream in the predetermined partial units, and causing the graphics accelerator to decode supplementary data of the video stream when an error is detected in a portion of a decoding target, the supplementary data being created by editing data of a portion located upwardly adjacent to the target portion comprising the detected error in such a manner that information indicating a position of the portion upwardly adjacent to the target portion in the image is edited into information for the target portion.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
