Abstract

Disclosed herein is, amongst other things, a device for processing a preform made from a thermoplastic plastic that is intended for blow molding into a container, the preform having been manufactured in an injection molding tool. The device may include a mandrel that is provided with a channel for a pressurizing medium. The channel for the pressurizing medium can provide, in use, overpressure to a distributor chamber which is sealed off by a membrane, wherein when pressure is applied to the channel the membrane is pressed against a side wall of the preform and causes a deforming of the preform.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A device for processing a preform made from a thermoplastic plastic that is intended for blow molding into a container, the preform manufactured in an injection molding tool, the device comprising:
a mandrel provided with a channel for a pressurizing medium, the channel for the pressurizing medium can provide, in use, overpressure to a distributor chamber which is sealed off by a membrane, wherein when pressure is applied to the channel the membrane is pressed against a side wall of the preform and causes a deforming of the preform.

2 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising:
a cooling sleeve within which to arrange the preform; wherein a force generated by the membrane can deform the preform against an inner wall of the cooling sleeve.

3 . A process for processing a preform made from thermoplastic plastic and intended for blow molding into a container, including manufacturing the preform in an injection molding tool, removing the preform from the injection molding tool, and deforming the preform with a device, characterized in that the device includes a mandrel provided with a channel for a pressurizing medium, the channel for the pressurizing medium can provide, in use, overpressure to a distributor chamber which is sealed off by a membrane, and wherein the deforming of the preform is by action of pressing the membrane against a side wall of the preform.

4 . The device of claim 3 , further comprising:
arranging the preform in a cooling sleeve; and the deforming the preform includes deforming the preform against an inner wall of the cooling sleeve.
