Abstract
A printhead is provided having a plurality of printhead integrated circuits defining an elongate printing zone of at least 914 mm, each printhead integrated circuit incorporating a plurality of ejection nozzles, and control circuitry connected to the printhead integrated circuits to control operation thereof. The ejection nozzles and control circuitry are configured so that the printhead integrated circuits are controlled by the control circuitry to print at least 1200 dots per inch.

a plurality of printhead integrated circuits defining an elongate printing zone of at least 914 mm, each printhead integrated circuit incorporating a plurality of ejection nozzles; and control circuitry connected to the printhead integrated circuits to control operation thereof, wherein the ejection nozzles and control circuitry are configured so that the printhead integrated circuits are controlled by the control circuitry to print at least 1200 dots per inch.
2 . A printhead as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the printhead integrated circuits are controlled by the control circuitry to print at least 1600 dots per inch.
3 . A printhead as claimed in claim 1 , wherein each printhead integrated circuit incorporates more than 7000 ejection nozzles.
4 . A printhead as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the number of printhead integrated circuits provides more than 150,000 ejection nozzles.
5 . A printhead as claimed in claim 4 , comprising at least 200,000 ejection nozzles.
6 . A printhead as claimed in claim 5 , comprising between 300,000 and 800,000 ejection nozzles.
