Abstract

Either image data or image generation record information is analyzed to determine an image quality parameter relating to image quality, and an output target decision regarding selection of image data as an output target is performed on the basis of the image quality parameter.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method of selecting an image from plural images and outputting the selected image, the method comprising:
selecting an image, based on whether an area included in a vicinity of a person in the image is sharper than an area included in a vicinity of the person in another image; and outputting the selected image.

2 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein
in the selecting of the image, a characteristic relating to sharpness of the area included in the vicinity of the person in the image is used.

3 . The method according to claim 2 , wherein
the characteristic is a characteristic of an edge amount at each pixel in the area included in the vicinity of the person in the image.

4 . The method according to claim 3 , wherein
the edge amount is weighted by weight to determine the characteristic, the weight in the area included in the vicinity of the person in the image being larger than in another area.

5 . An image processing device comprising:
a selector that selects an image, based on whether an area included in a vicinity of a person in the image is sharper than an area included in a vicinity of the person in another image; and an output unit that outputs the selected image.

       6 . A printer comprising:
a selector that selects an image, based on whether an area included in a vicinity of a person in the image is sharper than an area included in a vicinity of the person in another image; and a print unit that prints the selected image.

       7 . A computer program product comprising:
a computer-readable medium; and a computer program stored on the computer-readable medium including:
a first program for causing a computer to select an image, based on whether an area included in a vicinity of a person in the image is sharper than an area included in a vicinity of the person in another image; and
a second program for causing the computer to output the selected image.
