Bag with writing surface
Abstract
The bag includes a carrier implement such as straps for a backpack, at least one interior compartment and an outer panel defining a portion of an exterior of the bag. This outer panel is formed of a material which can receive ink in a removably attachable fashion, such that the outer panel can be decorated with a writing implement and decorations can be removed and modified. In one embodiment the outer panel is formed of patent leather with the writing implement in the form of a dry erase marker. A backing panel is provided inboard of the outer panel to add rigidity to the outer panel and facilitate writing thereon. Stitching around a perimeter of the outer panel joins the outer panel to the backing panel, as well as an inner liner to hold the outer panel securely in place.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An adjustably decoratable and redecoratable bag, comprising in combination:
an exterior; an interior within said exterior that is at least partially open; said interior including at least one compartment accessible from said exterior; at least one carrier implement; said carrier implement coupled to said exterior; at least one outer wall of said exterior including a writing surface thereon; and said writing surface adapted to be written upon by a writing implement.
2 . The bag of claim 1 wherein said writing surface is adapted to erasably hold dry erase ink thereon.
3 . The bag of claim 1 wherein said carrier implement includes at least one shoulder strap.
4 . The bag of claim 3 wherein said writing surface is located on a side of said exterior opposite said at least one shoulder strap.
5 . The bag of claim 4 wherein said writing surface includes white patent leather.
6 . The bag of claim 5 wherein a backing panel is located adjacent said writing surface and on a side of said writing surface inboard of said writing surface, said backing panel being more rigid than said writing surface.
7 . The bag of claim 6 wherein an inner liner is located inboard of said backing panel, said inner liner adjacent said openable compartment, such that said inner liner isolates said openable compartment from said backing panel.
8 . The bag of claim 1 wherein the bag includes at least first and second openable compartments including a smaller compartment and a larger compartment, said smaller compartment having a window passing through a wall thereof and a pouch adjacent said window, said pouch adapted to hold at least one marker therein, said at least one marker being visible through said window when contained within said pouch within said smaller compartment.
9 . The bag of claim 8 wherein at least one marker is attached to said bag by a flexible line capturing said marker to said bag while allowing said marker to move relative to said bag.
10 . The bag of claim 1 wherein stitching surrounds said writing surface securing said writing surface to said exterior.
11 . The bag of claim 10 wherein a backing panel is located inboard of said writing surface, said stitching joining said writing surface to said backing panel.
12 . The bag of claim 11 wherein said writing surface is formed of a dry erase compatible material adapted to erasably hold dry erase ink thereon.
13 . The bag of claim 11 wherein said writing surface is adapted to erasably hold chalk thereon.
14 . A method for adjustably decorating a bag, including the steps of:
providing an exterior, an interior within the exterior that is at least partially open, the interior including at least one compartment accessible from the exterior, at least one carrier implement, the carrier implement coupled to the exterior, at least one outer wall of the exterior including a writing surface thereon, and the writing panel adapted to be written upon by a writing implement; writing on the writing surface; erasing the writing surface; and repeating said writing step.
15 . The method of claim 14 wherein said providing step includes providing the writing surface from patent leather, the patent leather adapted to erasably hold dry erase marker ink thereon.
16 . The method of claim 14 wherein said providing step includes the step of orienting a backing panel inboard of the writing surface, said backing panel having a rigidity greater than a rigidity of the writing surface.
17 . The method of claim 14 including the further step of locating the writing surface on a side of the exterior opposite the at least one carrier implement.
18 . A re-writable bag decoration kit, comprising in combination:
a bag having an exterior; an interior opposite said exterior that is at least partially open; said interior including at least one accessible compartment; at least one carrier implement; said carrier implement coupled to said exterior; at least one outer wall of said exterior including a writing surface thereon; said writing surface adapted to be written upon by a writing implement; and at least one marker adapted to write on said writing surface in an erasable fashion.
19 . The kit of claim 18 wherein said writing panel is in the form of a dry erase surface material adapted to erasably receive dry erase marker ink thereon.
20 . The kit of claim 18 wherein said writing surface is adapted to erasably receive chalk thereon and said writing implement includes chalk.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
