Abstract

A magnet assembly is provided including a housing having a first end and a second end. A magnet is placed within a recess formed in the first end of the housing and a spring is positioned in at least a portion of the second end of the housing. A method of mounting a magnet assembly in a tool is provided. The method includes providing a magnet assembly including a housing having a recess formed in a first end of the housing and a spring positioned in a second end of the housing. The method further includes placing the magnet assembly into an opening defined in a tool and placing a magnet into the recess, and pressing the magnet against the spring to position the magnet within the tool.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 .- 18 . (canceled)

19 . A magnet assembly for mounting into a tool having a level surface, said magnet assembly comprising:
an expandable housing having a first end and a second end; said first end comprising an opening defined in said first end; and a magnet placed within said opening in a position for alignment of said magnet with said level surface; wherein said opening is adapted to expand for reception of said magnet and said wherein said housing frictionally engages said magnet and said tool to retain said magnet in said tool.

20 . The magnet assembly of claim 19 further comprising at least one recess extending distally from said opening.

21 . The magnet assembly of claim 20 comprising four recesses spaced equidistantly apart around said opening.

22 . The magnet assembly of claim 19 further comprising a flange extending radially outward from said first end.

23 . The magnet assembly of claim 19 wherein said housing is made of plastic.

24 . A method of mounting a magnet assembly in a tool comprising:
providing a magnet assembly housing having a housing opening defined therein; placing said housing in an opening defined in said tool, said tool opening sized to frictionally receive said housing; and placing said magnet in said housing opening and pressing said magnet into alignment with a level surface of said tool.

25 . The method of claim 24 further comprising providing an adhesive in said housing opening.
