System and method for remotely dispensing media discs with a plurality of user interface stations

Abstract

A system for dispensing media discs includes a kiosk including a storage system for storing a plurality of the media discs and a dispense system for dispensing the media discs to consumers. A plurality of dedicated user interface systems are operably connected to the kiosk so that multiple users can simultaneously interact with the kiosk.

1 . A system for dispensing media discs comprising, in combination:
 a kiosk including:
 a storage system for storing a plurality of the media discs; and 
 a dispense system for dispensing the media discs to consumers; and 
   a plurality of user interface systems operably connected to the kiosk.   
   
   
       2 . The system according to  claim 1 , wherein each of the user interface systems includes a touch video screen. 
   
   
       3 . The system according to  claim 1 , wherein each of the user interface systems includes a magnetic card reader. 
   
   
       4 . The system according to  claim 1 , wherein each of the user interface systems includes a receipt printer. 
   
   
       5 . The system according to  claim 1 , wherein the storage system is configured to store uncovered media discs. 
   
   
       6 . The system according to  claim 1 , wherein the storage system includes a drum-shaped storage unit. 
   
   
       7 . The system according to  claim 1 , wherein the media discs are prerecorded media discs. 
   
   
       8 . The system according to  claim 1 , wherein the kiosk further includes a disc transfer system for moving the media discs from the disc storage system to the dispense system. 
   
   
       9 . The system according to  claim 8 , wherein the storage system encircles the disc transfer system. 
   
   
       10 . The system according to  claim 1 , wherein the kiosk further includes a control system operably connected to the disc transfer system to selectively activate the disc transfer system to move the media discs from the disc storage system to the dispense system. 
   
   
       11 . A system for dispensing media discs comprising, in combination:
 a kiosk including:
 a storage system comprising a plurality of shelves for storing the media discs; 
 a dispense system for dispensing the media discs to consumers; 
 a disc transfer system for moving the media discs from the disc storage system to the dispense system; and 
 a control system operably connected to the disc transfer system to selectively activate the disc transfer system to move the media discs from the disc storage system to the dispense system; and 
   a plurality of user interface systems operably connected to the kiosk.   
   
   
       12 . The system according to  claim 11 , wherein each of the user interface systems includes a touch video screen. 
   
   
       13 . The system according to  claim 11 , wherein each of the user interface systems includes a magnetic card reader. 
   
   
       14 . The system according to  claim 11 , wherein each of the user interface systems includes a receipt printer. 
   
   
       15 . The system according to  claim 11 , wherein the shelves are configured to store uncovered media discs. 
   
   
       16 . The system according to  claim 11 , wherein the storage unit is drum-shaped. 
   
   
       17 . The system according to  claim 11 , wherein the media discs are prerecorded media discs. 
   
   
       18 . The system according to  claim 11 , wherein the storage system encircles the disc transfer system.
