Radio transmission apparatus and transmission method thereof

Abstract

A base station apparatus that limits the influx of speech data into a packet channel and that enables the service quality of the packet channel to be prevented from degrading. In this apparatus, a protocol detecting section detects a protocol contained in an IP header of a packet. Based on the protocol, a packet type detecting section detects a type of packet. Based on the type of packet, a delay addition control section determines whether or not to add a delay. Specifically, when the packet is of VoIP, the delay addition control section instructs a switching section to output the packet to a delay adding section, and further instructs the delay adding section to add a delay. Meanwhile, when the packet is an IP packet, the delay addition control section instructs the switching section to output the packet to a scheduler.

1 . A radio transmission apparatus that transmits a speech packet and a normal packet other than the speech packet on a packet channel, the radio transmission apparatus comprising:
 a detecting section that detects a type of a transmission packet; and   a transmitting section that degrades quality of the speech packet to transmit the speech packet on the packet channel when the detected type shows the speech packet, and that maintains quality of the normal packet to transmit the normal packet on the packet channel when the detected type shows the normal packet.   
   
   
       2 . A transmission method in a radio transmission apparatus that transmits a speech packet and a normal packet other than the speech packet on a packet channel, the transmission method comprising:
 detecting a type of a transmission packet; and   degrading quality of the speech packet to transmit the speech packet on the packet channel when the detected type shows the speech packet, and maintaining quality of the normal packet to transmit the normal packet on the packet channel when the detected type shows the normal packet.
