Abstract

The invention is a hosiery garment adapted with specialized ends configured for interconversion between an open-toe configuration and a closed-toe configuration depending on the selective preferences of the wearer. A hosiery garment, in accordance with the present invention, comprises a first longitudinal segment with a first end detachably coupled to said first longitudinal segment, said first end adapted to fit a first lower extremity of a human body, wherein said first end includes a first slit opening for exposing said first lower extremity of said human body; and a second longitudinal segment with a second end detachably coupled to said second longitudinal segment, said second end adapted to fit a second lower extremity of said human body, wherein said second end includes a second slit opening for exposing said second lower extremity of said human body. Embodiments of the present invention include without limitation, hosiery garments such as pantyhose, stockings, and similar hosiery items.

. The hosiery garment of claim 1 , wherein said first end includes a first slit opening for exposing said first lower extremity of said human body.

. The hosiery garment of claim 1 , wherein said second end includes a second slit opening for exposing said second lower extremity of said human body.

. The hosiery garment of claim 2 , wherein said first slit opening further comprises a first resilient layer to securely hold said first end against said first lower extremity of said human body.

. The hosiery garment of claim 3 , wherein said second slit opening further comprises a second resilient layer to securely hold said second end against said second lower extremity of said human body.

. The hosiery garment of claim 2 , wherein said first end further comprises a first adhesive layer to securely hold said first end against said first lower extremity of said human body.

. The hosiery garment of claim 3 , wherein said second end further comprises a second adhesive layer to securely hold said second end against said second lower extremity of said human body.

. The hosiery garment of claim 6 , wherein said tubular body comprises a sheer material.

. The hosiery garment of claim 7 , wherein said tubular body comprises a sheer material.

. A hosiery garment, comprising:
a first longitudinal segment with a first end detachably coupled to said first longitudinal segment, said first end adapted to fit a first lower extremity of a human body, wherein said first end includes a first slit opening for exposing said first lower extremity of said human body; and a second longitudinal segment with a second end detachably coupled to said second longitudinal segment, said second end adapted to fit a second lower extremity of said human body, wherein said second end includes a second slit opening for exposing said second lower extremity of said human body.

. The hosiery garment of claim 10 , wherein said first and second slit openings further comprises a resilient material to securely hold said first end against said first lower extremity of said human body and said second end against said second lower extremity of said human body.

. The hosiery garment of claim 11 , wherein said resilient material further comprises an adhesive to securely hold said first end against said first lower extremity of said human body and said second end against said second lower extremity of said human body.

. The hosiery garment of claim 12 , wherein said first and second slit openings further comprise a reinforcement layer to securely connect said first end to said first longitudinal segment and said second end to said second longitudinal segment.

. The hosiery garments of claim 13 , wherein said reinforcement layer further comprises additional elastane fibers for added strength.

. The hosiery garments of claim 14 , wherein said reinforcement further includes additional stitching for added strength.

. A method for making a specialty hosiery garment, comprising the steps of:
forming a first longitudinal segment with a first end adapted to fit a first lower extremity of a human body; forming a second longitudinal segment with a second end adapted to fit a second lower extremity of said human body; forming a first enclosure with a first opening on said first end so that said first lower extremity of said human body may be exposed; and forming a second enclosure with a second opening on said second end so that said second lower extremity of said human body may be exposed.

. The method of claim 16 , further comprising the step of applying an adhesive to a trim of said first and second openings.

. The method of claim 17 , further comprising the step of reinforcing said first and second openings with elastane fibers.
