Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
- 11 . (canceled)

. A vaccine comprising an immunogenically effective amount of live, attenuated Salmonella typhimurium ( S. typhimurium ), said S. typhimurium not having a functional tRNA 5 leu , and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

. The vaccine according to claim 12 , wherein the S. typhimurium does not have a functional tRNA 5 leu as the result of a mutation in the leux gene.

. The vaccine according to claim 13 , wherein the mutation in the leux gene comprises an insertion.

. The vaccine according to claim 14 , wherein the mutation in the leux gene comprises the insertion of a heterologous gene.

. The vaccine of claim 12 , wherein the S. typhimurium comprises a heterologous gene.

. The vaccine of claim 13 , wherein the mutation in the leux gene comprises a deletion.

. The vaccine of claim 13 , wherein the mutation in the leux gene comprises a deletion and an insertion.

. The vaccine of claim 13 , wherein the mutation in the leux gene comprises a substitution.
