Baseball game

Abstract

A board game to emulate the game of baseball wherein dice are rolled with each number signifying a action by the batter. Supplemental dice are also employed for use by both the defensive team and offensive team to force other actions such as steals, double plays, and the like.

1 . A baseball board game comprising:
 a game board;   a pair of six sided dice, each die side having a designation representing one of the numbers 1 to 6;   a six sided game die having three sides with a first designation and three sides with a second designation; and   a six-sided defence die having a first pair of sides with a first designation, a second pair of sides with a second designation, and third pair of sides with a third designation.   
   
   
       2 . The board game of  claim 1  wherein said game die has three sides of a first colour and three sides of a second colour. 
   
   
       3 . The board game of  claim 1  wherein said first designation of said defensive die represents a first action, said second designation represents a second action, and said third designation represents a third action. 
   
   
       4 . The board game of  claim 1  wherein said game board has a depiction of a baseball stadium thereon, including base paths. 
   
   
       5 . The board game of  claim 1  further including pieces to represent players on a baseball team. 
   
   
       6 . A method of playing a baseball board game comprising the steps of supplying a game board, a pair of numbered dice each having six sides with numbers one to six, a six-sided game die having a first set of three sides substantially identical and a second set of three sides substantially identical, and a six-sided defence die having three pairs of two sides each substantially identical;
 rolling said numbered dice wherein each combined number designates an action for the batter;   permitting the offensive or defensive teams to roll a supplemental die for a further action, the supplemental die being rolled depending upon the original number obtained from the numbered dice.   
   
   
       7 . The method of  claim 6  further including the step of rolling said team die to determine the order of playing defence and offense. 
   
   
       8 . The method of  claim 7  wherein the sum total from a roll of the dice is two and signifies that the batter has flied out to centre field. 
   
   
       9 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the sum total from a roll of the dice is three and signifies that the batter has struck out. 
   
   
       10 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the sum total from a roll of the dice is four and designates a walk for the batter. 
   
   
       11 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the sum total from a roll of the dice is five and signifies that the batter has been retired by a first baseman. 
   
   
       12 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the sum total from a roll of the dice is six and signifies that the batter has been retired by the second baseman. 
   
   
       13 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the sum total from a roll of the dice is seven and signifies that the batter has been retired by the third baseman. 
   
   
       14 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the sum total from a roll of the dice is eight and signifies that the batter has been retired by the shortstop. 
   
   
       15 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the sum total from a roll of the dice is nine and signifies a single hit by the batter. 
   
   
       16 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the sum total from a roll of the dice is ten and signifies that the batter has hit a double. 
   
   
       17 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the sum total from a roll of the dice is eleven and signifies that the batter has hit a triple. 
   
   
       18 . The method of  claim 6  wherein the sum total from a roll of the dice is twelve and signifies a home run hit by the batter.
