Abstract

Pressure release container, e.g. for peroxide materials, with a spout opening ( 2 ), a neck ( 3 ) along the periphery of the spout opening, and a venting cover ( 5 ). The venting cover comprises a body plate ( 6 ) to cover the spout opening, the body plate having a vent opening ( 7 ) and having a flange ( 9 ) with fastening means, e.g. a screw thread ( 4 ), to cooperate with corresponding fastening means on the outer face of the neck. The vent opening is covered by a gas permeable sheet ( 11 ) fixed between the fastening means of the neck and the flange. The vent opening can be provided with a pop-off cap ( 8 ).

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A container comprising:
a spout opening, a neck along the periphery of the spout opening, and a venting cover comprising a body plate to cover the spout opening, the body plate having a vent opening and having arranged along its periphery a flange with an inner peripheral surface provided with a fastening means to cooperate with a corresponding fastening means on the outer face of the neck, wherein the vent opening is covered by a gas permeable filter, and wherein the gas permeable filter is a sheet fixed between the corresponding fastening means of the neck and the fastening means of the flange.

2 . The container according to claim 1 , wherein the vent opening is provided with a pop-off cap.

3 . The container according to claim 1 , wherein the sheet is a perforated foil of a plastic material.

4 . The container according to claim 1 , wherein the corresponding fastening means of the neck are formed by an outer screw thread on the outer face of the neck, and the fastening means of the flange are formed by a corresponding inner screw thread on the inner peripheral surface of the flange.

5 . The container according to claim 1 , wherein the sheet comprises two or more perforated sheet layers and the perforations of the sheet layers are not in line with each other.

6 . The container according to claim 1 , further comprising at least one bursting area situated above a level of a liquid composition contained or to be contained in the container.

       7 . (canceled)

8 . The container according to claim 2 , wherein the sheet is a perforated foil of a plastic material.

9 . The container according to claim 2 , wherein the corresponding fastening means of the neck are formed by an outer screw thread on the outer face of the neck, and the fastening means of the flange are formed by a corresponding inner screw thread on the inner peripheral surface of the flange.

10 . The container according to claim 3 , wherein the corresponding fastening means of the neck are formed by an outer screw thread on the outer face of the neck, and the fastening means of the flange are formed by a corresponding inner screw thread on the inner peripheral surface of the flange.

11 . The container according to claim 8 , wherein the corresponding fastening means of the neck are formed by an outer screw thread on the outer face of the neck, and the fastening means of the flange are formed by a corresponding inner screw thread on the inner peripheral surface of the flange.

12 . The container according to claim 2 , wherein the sheet comprises two or more perforated sheet layers and the perforations of the sheet layers are not in line with each other.

13 . The container according to claim 4 , wherein the sheet comprises two or more perforated sheet layers and the perforations of the sheet layers are not in line with each other.

14 . The container according to claim 9 , wherein the sheet comprises two or more perforated sheet layers and the perforations of the sheet layers are not in line with each other.

15 . The container according to claim 10 , wherein the sheet comprises two or more perforated sheet layers and the perforations of the sheet layers are not in line with each other.

16 . The container according to claim 11 , wherein the sheet comprises two or more perforated sheet layers and the perforations of the sheet layers are not in line with each other.

17 . The container according to claim 3 , further comprising at least one bursting area situated above a level of a liquid composition contained or to be contained in the container.

18 . The container according to claim 5 , further comprising at least one bursting area situated above a level of a liquid composition contained or to be contained in the container.

19 . The container according to claim 14 , further comprising at least one bursting area situated above a level of a liquid composition contained or to be contained in the container.

20 . A method for the storage and/or transport of a composition which is liable to exothermic decomposition, the method comprising:
adding the composition to the container according to claim 1 , and at least one of storing and transporting the composition in the container.

21 . The method according to claim 20 , wherein the composition is a peroxide formulation.
