Abstract
A system and method in which a notification is received of a call from a first device to a second device in a first domain. A context is created for the first type of call. A notification is received of initiation of a call from the second device to the first device in a second domain. The call context is utilized to notify the first device of the initiation of the call from the second device to the first device.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method, comprising:
receiving a notification of a call from a first device to a second device in a first domain; creating a call context for the first type of call; receiving a notification of initiation of a call from the second device to the first device in a second domain; and utilizing the call context to notify the first device of the initiation of the call from the second device to the first device.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of creating the call context comprises:
generating a call reference for the first type of call; and
storing the call reference in a memory component.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the step of creating the call context further comprises:
extracting an identifier of the first device from the notification of the call from the first device to the second device; storing the identifier in the memory such that it corresponds to the call reference.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the step of utilizing comprises:
employing the call reference to determine the identifier of the first device; and sending a message, in the second domain, to the first device indicating that that the second device would like to invoke the second type of call with the first device.
5 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:
sending the call reference to the second device in response to creation of the call context.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the step of sending the identifier to the first device comprises:
initiating an Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) session with the second device; and sending the call reference to the second device during the USSD session.
7 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the step of sending comprises:
sending a Short Message Service (SMS) message to the second device that includes the call reference.
8 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising:
receiving a request from the second device over a web interface for the call reference; and wherein the step of sending comprises: sending the call reference over the web interface to the second device in response to receipt of the request.
9 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the step of sending comprises:
sending a session initiation protocol (SIP) NOTIFY message to the second device that includes the call reference.
10 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the step of generating the call reference comprises:
generating the call reference within the second device.
11 . The method of claim 5 , further comprising:
receiving a request to initiate a call to the first device, in the second domain, from the second device, wherein the request includes the call reference.
12 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the step of sending comprises:
sending the message through utilization of SIP instant messaging.
13 . A system, comprising:
a first interface component that receives a notification of a call from a first device to a second device in a first domain; a context creation component that creates a call context for the first type of call; a second interface component that receives a notification of initiation of a call from the second device to the first device in a second domain; and a notification component that utilizes the call context to notify the first device of the initiation of the call from the second device to the first device.
14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the context creation component comprises:
call reference generation component that generates a call reference for the first type of call; wherein the system further comprises a memory component to store the call reference in a memory device.
15 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the context creation component further comprises:
a device identifier component that extracts an identifier of the first device from the notification of the call from the first device to the second device; wherein the system further comprises a memory component to store the such that it corresponds to the call reference.
16 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the notification component comprises:
a processing component that employs the call reference to determine the identifier of the first device; and a processing component that sends a second message, in the second domain, to the first device indicating that that the second device would like to invoke the second type of call with the first device.
17 . The system of claim 14 , further comprising:
a call reference communication component that sends the call reference to the second device in response to creation of the call context.
18 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the call reference communication component comprises:
a processing component that initiates an Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) session with the second device; and a processing component that sends the call reference to the second device during the USSD session.
19 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the call reference communication component comprises:
a processing component that sends a Short Message Service (SMS) message to the second device that includes the call reference.
20 . The system of claim 17 , further comprising:
a web interface that receives a request from the second device for the call reference; and wherein the call reference communication component further comprises: a processing component that sends the call reference to the second device in response to receipt of the request.
21 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the call reference communication component comprises:
a session initiation protocol (SIP) component that sends a SIP NOTIFY message to the second device that includes the call reference.
22 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the call reference generation component comprises resides in the second device.
23 . The system of claim 17 , further comprising:
a call request component that receives a request to initiate a call to the first device, in the second domain, from the second device, wherein the request includes the call reference.
24 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the call reference communication component comprises:
a processing component that sends the message through utilization of SIP instant messaging.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
