Glove with gripping dots

Abstract

An improved glove that significantly enhances the ability of the user to grip and manipulate a variety of differently configured objects and particularly to grip and manipulate objects between the thumb and the index finger. The improved glove exhibits a multiplicity of elastomeric gripping dots on the palm side of the glove and on both sides of the thumb portion of the glove to enable the user to securely grip and manipulate various types of articles.

A gripping glove to be worn by a user comprising a knit hand covering having a palm portion, an index finger portion and a thumb portion, said thumb portion having front and back surfaces, said palm portion, said index finger portion and said front and back surfaces of said thumb portion having a multiplicity of spaced-apart gripping dots formed thereon, whereby, when said glove is worn by the user and when said index finger portion and said thumb portion are moved into engagement, said gripping dots formed on said index finger portion and said thumb portion will engage. 
   
   
       2 . The gripping glove as defined in  claim 1  in which said multiplicity of gripping dots are formed from a polymer emulsion. 
   
   
       3 . The gripping glove as defined in  claim 2  in which said multiplicity of gripping dots are formed from a liquid vinyl material. 
   
   
       4 . The gripping glove as defined in  claim 3  in which a multiplicity of dots of a liquid vinyl deposited on said palm portion and said thumb portion of said glove cover a surface area of less than 25% of the total surface said palm portion and said thumb portion.
