Interactive Feeding Doll
Abstract
An interactive toy doll where the doll interacts with the user by reacting to its own orientation and to pressure applied to its body or mouth. If the doll is placed in a horizontal position, such as being laid down in a bed, it will close its eyes and go to sleep. Squeezing the doll's chest, as if hugging it, or placing the doll in an upright position can wake the doll. The doll can be fed by placing a toy bottle in the doll's mouth. The doll will then react by making sounds of a baby sucking on a bottle. After a set period of time in which the doll has not been fed, the doll will emit crying sounds, as if the doll is hungry.

a doll, where the doll is in the shape of a humanoid figure, and where the doll comprises a power source, a speaker, a mouth button, and an orientation sensor, where the integrated circuit is connected to and capable of processing input from the mouth button, orientation sensor, or both, and sending output to the speaker, where the power source supplies power to the integrated circuit, where the speaker is connected to the integrated circuit and the integrated circuit can cause the speaker to emit sound by sending signals to the speaker, where the doll has two or more modes, where the modes can affect what sounds are produced by the speaker, and where the modes can automatically change after a set period of time, where the mouth button is located in the mouth of the doll and where the mouth button, when pressed, sends a signal to the integrated circuit, and when the integrated circuit receives this signal, it causes the speaker to emit sound, the doll to change to a different mode, or both depending on the mode that the doll is currently in, and where the orientation sensor senses whether the doll is in more of a vertical or horizontal position and can convey this information to the integrated circuit, and where the integrated circuit, upon a changing of orientation of the doll, causes the speaker to emit sound, the doll to change to a different mode, or both depending on the mode that the doll is currently in.
2 . The child's toy of claim 1 , further comprising eyes that can be in the open or closed position, where the integrated circuit can control the position of the eyes.
3 . The child's toy of claim 1 , further comprising a pressure sensor, where the pressure sensor is located in the chest of the doll and the integrated circuit is connected to and capable of processing input from the pressure sensor, and
where the pressure sensor, when it senses pressure, sends a signal to the integrated circuit, when the integrated circuit receives this signal, it causes the speaker to emit sound, the doll to change to a different mode, or both depending on the mode that the doll is currently in.
4 . The child's toy of claim 1 , further comprising a three-way switch, where the three-way switch can be in the on position, off position, or limited function position, where the three-way switch is connected to the integrated circuit, and
when the three-way switch is in the off position, no power is supplied to the integrated circuit, when the three-way switch is in the limited function position, power is supplied to the integrated circuit and the integrated circuit accepts input from some, but not all, of the input devices, and when the three-way switch is in the on position, power is supplied to the integrated circuit and the integrated circuit accepts input from all of the input devices.

The child's toy of claim 4 , further comprising a hand button, where the hand button is located in one of the hands of the doll and the integrated circuit is connected to and capable of processing input from the hand button, where the integrated circuit accepts input from the hand button when the three-way switch is in the limited function position, and
where the hand button, when pressed sends a signal to the integrated circuit, and when the three-way switch is in the limited function position, the integrated circuit causes the speaker to emit sound.
6 . The child's toy of claim 5 , where one of the modes of the doll is a low power mode, where the doll enters the low power mode after a set period of time of inactivity, where inactivity occurs when the integrated circuit receives no input signals, and
where the integrated circuit does not accept input from any input device except the hand button when the doll is in the low power mode, and the doll leaves the low power mode when the integrated circuit receives a signal from the hand button.
7 . The child's toy of claim 1 , where the modes comprise a normal mode and a hungry mode,
where the integrated circuit, when the doll is in the normal mode, causes the speaker to emit sounds consistent with sounds that would normally be made by a happy baby that is not hungry, and when the integrated circuit receives an input signal from the mouth button, causes the speaker to emit sounds consistent with sounds that would normally be made by a baby drinking from a bottle, where the integrated circuit, when the doll is in the hungry mode, causes the speaker to emit sounds consistent with sounds that would normally be made by a baby that is hungry, and when the integrated circuit receives an input signal from the mouth button, causes the speaker to emit sounds consistent with sounds that would normally be made by a baby drinking from a bottle, and when the integrated circuit receives an input signal from the mouth button for at least a set period of time, the mode of the doll changes from hungry mode to normal mode, and where the mode of the doll changes from normal mode to hungry mode after a set period of time of the doll being in normal mode without the integrated circuit receiving input from the mouth button.
8 . The child's toy of claim 1 , where the modes comprise a sleep mode,
where the integrated circuit, when the doll is in sleep mode, causes the speaker to emit sounds consistent with sounds that would normally be made by a sleeping baby, where the doll enters sleep mode when the orientation sensor senses that the doll is in more of a horizontal position than a vertical position, and where the doll leaves sleep mode when the orientation sensor senses that the doll is in more of a vertical position than a horizontal position.

a doll, where the doll is in the shape of a humanoid figure, and where the doll comprises a power source, a speaker, a mouth button, an orientation sensor, a pressure sensor, and eyes that can be in an open or closed position, where the integrated circuit is connected to and capable of processing input from the mouth button, orientation sensor, pressure sensor, or any combination thereof and sending output to the speaker as well as controlling the position of the eyes, where the power source supplies power to the integrated circuit, where the speaker is connected to the integrated circuit and the integrated circuit can cause the speaker to emit sound by sending signals to the speaker, where the doll has two or more modes, where the modes can affect what sounds are produced by the speaker, and where the modes can automatically change after a set period of time, where the mouth button is located in the mouth of the doll and where the mouth button, when pressed, sends a signal to the integrated circuit, and when the integrated circuit receives this signal, it causes the speaker to emit sound, the doll to change to a different mode, or both depending on the mode that the doll is currently in, where the orientation sensor senses whether the doll is in more of a vertical or horizontal position and can convey this information to the integrated circuit, and where the integrated circuit, upon a changing of orientation of the doll, causes the speaker to emit sound, the doll to change to a different mode, or both depending on the mode that the doll is currently in, and where the pressure sensor is located in the chest of the doll and where the pressure sensor, when it senses pressure, sends a signal to the integrated circuit, when the integrated circuit receives this signal, it causes the speaker to emit sound, the doll to change to a different mode, or both depending on the mode that the doll is currently in.

The child's toy of claim 10 , further comprising a hand button, where the hand button is located in one of the hands of the doll and the integrated circuit is connected to and capable of processing input from the hand button, where the integrated circuit accepts input from the hand button when the three-way switch is in the limited function position, and
where the hand button, when pressed sends a signal to the integrated circuit, and when the three-way switch is in the limited function position, the integrated circuit causes the speaker to emit sound.
12 . The child's toy of claim 11 , where one of the modes of the doll is a low power mode, where the doll enters this mode after a set period of time of inactivity, where inactivity occurs when the integrated circuit receives no input signals, and
where the integrated circuit does not accept input from any input device except the hand button when the doll is in the low power mode, and the doll leaves the low power mode when the integrated circuit receives a signal from the hand button.

14 . The child's toy of claim 9 , where the modes comprise a sleep mode,
where the integrated circuit, when the doll is in sleep mode, causes the speaker to emit sounds consistent with sounds that would normally be made by a sleeping baby and the eyes to be in the closed position, where the doll enters sleep mode when the integrated circuit senses that the doll is in more of a horizontal position than a vertical position, and where the doll leaves sleep mode when the integrated circuit senses that the doll is in more of a vertical position than a horizontal position or the integrated circuit receives a signal from the pressure sensor.

where the integrated circuit, when the doll is in the normal mode, causes the speaker to emit sounds consistent with sounds that would normally be made by a happy baby that is not hungry and the eyes to blink, and when the integrated circuit receives an input signal from the mouth button, causes the speaker to emit sounds consistent with sounds that would normally be made by a baby drinking from a bottle, where the integrated circuit, when the doll is in the hungry mode, causes the speaker to emit sounds consistent with sounds that would normally be made by a baby that is hungry and the eyes to blink, and when the integrated circuit receives an input signal from the mouth button, causes the speaker to emit sounds consistent with sounds that would normally be made by a baby drinking from a bottle, and when the integrated circuit receives an input signal from the mouth button for at least a set period of time, the mode of the doll changes from hungry mode to normal mode, and where the mode of the doll changes from normal mode to hungry mode after a set period of time of the doll being in normal mode without the integrated circuit receiving input from the mouth button, and where the integrated circuit, when the doll is in sleep mode, causes the speaker to emit sounds consistent with sounds that would normally be made by a sleeping baby and the eyes to be in the closed position, where the doll enters sleep mode when the doll is in normal mode and the orientation sensor senses that the doll is in more of a horizontal position than a vertical position, and where the doll leaves sleep mode when the orientation sensor senses that the doll is in more of a vertical position than a horizontal position or the integrated circuit receives a signal from the pressure sensor.
16 . The child's toy of claim 9 , further comprising a hand button, where the hand button is located in one of the hands of the doll and the integrated circuit is connected to and capable of processing input from the hand button,
