Abstract

A camera for capturing and printing images is provided having an image sensor for capturing images, a network interface for transferring the captured images to a computer system and for receiving identities uniquely assigned to each transferred image by the computer system, and a printing mechanism for printing the images and coded data at least partially indicative of the assigned identities onto print media.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A camera for capturing and printing images, the camera comprising:
an image sensor for capturing images; a network interface for transferring the captured images to a computer system and for receiving identities uniquely assigned to each transferred image by the computer system; and a printing mechanism for printing the images and coded data at least partially indicative of the assigned identities onto print media.

2 . A camera according to claim 1 , further comprising a coded data generator for generating the coded data.

3 . A camera according to claim 2 , wherein the coded data includes a plurality of tags, the coded data generator being configured to ascertain a position of each tag prior to printing, the respective positions being determined on the basis of a coded data layout.

4 . A camera according to claim 3 , wherein the coded data generator receives the coded data layout from the computer system via the network interface.

5 . A camera according to claim 1 , wherein the coded data includes a plurality of tags, each tag being indicative of the assigned identity of an associated printed image.

6 . A camera according to claim 1 , wherein the printed coded data is not substantially visible to an average unaided human eye under daylight or ambient lighting conditions.

7 . A camera according to claim 1 , wherein the printing mechanism prints the images and coded data substantially simultaneously onto the print media.
