Abstract

A pocket holster for a communication device, such as a cellular telephone, includes an open top through which the communication device is deposited into the pocket holster. The holster preferably includes a strip of material having an upper edge with rounded corners and a curved bottom. The material near the curved bottom is wider than that near the upper edge. The curved bottom is folded upward towards the upper edge. The edges of the sides near the curved bottom are aligned above the edges of the sides near the upper edge and stitched to one another to create a bulge such that the communication device easily passes into the holster; and, the communication device may be easily retrieved from it. A semi-circular opening is provided between the upper edge and curved bottom.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
. A pocket holster that secures a communication device within a pocket of an article of clothing, said pocket holster including a shaped strip of material having two faces, two sides and two ends and being divided substantially near a centerline into two halves, the first half of the shaped strip of material having a first length and a first width, the second half of the shaped strip of material having a second length and a second width, the first width being wider than the second width and the first length being shorter than the second length, said pocket holster having the halves overlaid atop one another and fasten together substantially along each side to create a holster having an opening through which the communication device passes when placed in the holster.

. The pocket holster of claim 1 wherein the shaped strip of material is synthetic rubber.

. The pocket holster of claim 1 wherein one face of the shaped strip of material has a lower coefficient of friction than the exterior for aiding in retrieval of the mobile communications device from the pocket holster.

. The pocket holster of claim 1 wherein the first width is one-half an inch wider than the second width.

. The pocket holster of claim 1 wherein each side includes permanent stitching.

. The pocket holster of claim 1 wherein the opening through which the communication device passes when placed in the holster further is a flared opening.

. The pocket holster of claim 1 further including a second opening arranged at a bottom of the pocket holster.

. The pocket holster of claim 7 wherein the second opening is semicircular in shape with the flat edge arranged substantially near the centerline.

. The pocket holster of claim 7 wherein the second opening is semicircular in shape with the flat edge arranged substantially near the centerline and the radius of the second opening is three-quarters of an inch.

. The pocket holster of claim 1 wherein the second length is substantially one quarter an inch longer than the first length.

. A communication device pocket holster comprising a strip of material having two faces, two sides and two ends and being divided substantially near a centerline into two halves, the first half of the shaped strip of material having a first length and a first width and an arcuate edge defined between the two sides, the second half of the shaped strip of material having a second length and a second width and rounded corners, the first width being wider than the second width and the first length being shorter than the second length, said pocket holster having the halves overlaid atop one another and fasten together substantially along each side to create a holster having an opening through which the communication device passes when placed in the holster.

. The communication device pocket holster of claim 11 wherein the shaped strip of material is synthetic rubber.

. The pocket holster of claim 11 wherein one face of the shaped strip of material has a lower coefficient of friction than the exterior for aiding in retrieval of the mobile communications device from the pocket holster.

. The pocket holster of claim 11 wherein the first width is one-half an inch wider than the second width.

. The pocket holster of claim 11 wherein each side includes permanent stitching.

. The pocket holster of claim 11 wherein the opening through which the communication device passes when placed in the holster further is a flared opening.

. The pocket holster of claim 11 further including a second opening arranged at a bottom of the pocket holster.

. The pocket holster of claim 17 wherein the second opening is semicircular in shape with the flat edge arranged substantially near the centerline.

. The pocket holster of claim 17 wherein the second opening is semicircular in shape with the flat edge arranged substantially near the centerline and the radius of the second opening is three-quarters of an inch.

. The pocket holster of claim 17 wherein the second length is substantially one quarter an inch longer than the first length.
