Structure and method for molding crushed or chipped ice to hold a number of sample containers

Abstract

A structure and method for molding crushed or chipped ice to hold a number of sample containers comprised of spikes in the shape of a desired container, a flat surface to level the crushed or chipped ice, and a handle for easy removal from ice. Pressing into and then removing the invention from crushed or chipped ice results in an imprint of the spikes and flat surface. The pits formed in the ice by the spikes can be used to hold sample containers.

1 . A method for molding the shape of crushed or chipped ice into a form that allows for the organization of a number of containers by forcing a mold formed from spikes on a flat surface into said crushed or chipped ice, forcing said ice to take on the shape of the said spikes and said flat surface, said method comprising the steps of:
 pushing said spikes and flat surface into said crushed or chipped ice;   removing said spikes from said crushed or chipped ice;   resulting in the imprint of said spikes and flat surface being left behind in said crushed or chipped ice;   
   
   
       2 . A mold used according to  claim 1  where the spikes are of the same size and shape as the containers that will be held in the crushed or chipped ice. 
   
   
       3 . A mold used according to  claim 1  where there is a handle attached to allow easy removal of the mold after said crushed or chipped ice has been molded.
