Abstract

A drug effective for prevention and therapy of endometriosis is disclosed. The drug for prevention and/or therapy of endometriosis according to the present invention comprises an antiallergic agent as an effective ingredient.

1 . A method for prophylaxis or treatment of endometriosis comprising:
 administering an inhibitor or an antagonist against type 1 allergic reaction to a patient suffering from endometriosis, in an amount effective for the prophylaxis or treatment of endometriosis.   
   
   
       2 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said inhibitor or antagonist against type 1 allergic reaction is cromoglycic acid, tranilast, amlexanox, repirinast, tazanolast, pemirolast K, suplatast, ketotifen, azelastine, oxatomide, terfenadine, mequitazine, emedastine, epinastine, astemizole, ibudilast, ozagrel, seratrodast, pranlukast, ebastine, cetirizine, cyproheptadine, chlorophenylamine, homochlorcyclizine, hydroxyzine or clemastine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or a hydrate thereof. 
   
   
       3 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said inhibitor or antagonist against type 1 allergic reaction is epinastine, ketotifen or pranlukast, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or a hydrate thereof. 
   
   
       4 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said inhibitor or antagonist against type 1 allergic reaction is administered orally or parenterally. 
   
   
       5 . The method according to  claim 2 , wherein said pharmaceutically acceptable salt is an acid addition salt or a metal salt. 
   
   
       6 . The method according to  claim 4 , wherein said pharmaceutically acceptable salt is an acid addition salt or a metal salt. 
   
   
       7 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said inhibitor or antagonist against type 1 allergic reaction is administered orally. 
   
   
       8 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said inhibitor or antagonist against type 1 allergic reaction is epinastine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 
   
   
       9 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said inhibitor or antagonist against type 1 allergic reaction is ketotifen or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 
   
   
       10 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein said inhibitor or antagonist against type 1 allergic reaction is pranlukast, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or a hydrate thereof. 
   
   
       11 . The method according to  claim 1 , wherein the endometriosis shows invasion of mast cells and their degranulation.
