Abstract

A personal hygiene wet and dry wipe dispenser and waste receptacle device includes a lower compartment for storing a waste receptacle having an opening in an upper surface, a mounting plate integral with the lower compartment, the mounting plate having mounting elements thereon, a finishing element and an upper compartment for storing a plurality of wipes. The upper compartment has an upper surface having at least two apertures therein. Each of the apertures is configured for dispensing some of the wipes therethrough. The upper compartment has engaging elements for engaging some of the mounting elements on the mounting plate to secure the upper compartment to the mounting plate. The upper compartment is removed from the mounting plate by disengaging the upper compartment from the mounting plate to place wipes in the upper compartment. The wipes are stored in cartridges in the upper compartment and are maintained aligned in the compartment by guides complementary to the shape of the cartridges.

1 . A personal hygiene wipe dispenser and waste receptacle device, the device comprising:
 a lower compartment for storing a waste receptacle, the lower compartment having an opening in an upper surface;   a mounting plate integral with the lower compartment, the mounting plate having mounting elements thereon;   a finishing element; and   an upper compartment for storing a plurality of wipes, the upper compartment having an upper surface having at least two apertures therein, each configured for dispensing some of the wipes therethrough, the upper compartment having engaging elements for engaging some of the mounting elements on the mounting plate to secure the upper compartment to the mounting plate;   wherein the upper compartment is removed from the mounting plate by disengaging the upper compartment from the mounting plate to place wipes in the upper compartment.   
   
   
       2 . The personal hygiene wipe dispenser and waste receptacle device in accordance with  claim 1  wherein some of the wipes are wet wipes and others of the wipes are dry wipes, the wet wipes and the dry wipes being separated from each other and dispensed through separate apertures. 
   
   
       3 . The personal hygiene wipe dispenser and waste receptacle device in accordance with  claim 2  wherein the wet wipes and the dry wipes are disposed in side-by-side relation to one another and wherein the apertures are disposed on the upper compartment upper surface. 
   
   
       4 . The personal hygiene wipe dispenser and waste receptacle device in accordance with  claim 3  wherein the wet wipes and the dry wipes are disposed in a separate canisters that are removable from the upper compartment. 
   
   
       5 . The personal hygiene wipe dispenser and waste receptacle device in accordance with  claim 4  wherein the canisters have an oval shape. 
   
   
       6 . The personal hygiene wipe dispenser and waste receptacle device in accordance with  claim 5  wherein the canisters have covers and wherein the covers are configured so as to facilitate dispensing a single wipe at a time. 
   
   
       7 . The personal hygiene wipe dispenser and waste receptacle device in accordance with  claim 5  wherein the canister covers are connected to one another to define a tandem set of canister covers. 
   
   
       8 . The personal hygiene wipe dispenser and waste receptacle device in accordance with  claim 5  wherein the wipes are provided in roll form, the roll having an oval shape. 
   
   
       9 . The personal hygiene wipe dispenser and waste receptacle device in accordance with  claim 5  wherein the canisters are configured to permit replacing and/or refilling the canister with wipes. 
   
   
       10 . The personal hygiene wipe dispenser and waste receptacle device in accordance with  claim 4  wherein the apertures in the upper compartment have a shape and wherein the canisters have covers each having an upstanding element having a shape complimentary to the shape of the aperture openings to align the canisters in the upper compartment at the openings. 
   
   
       11 . The personal hygiene wipe dispenser and waste receptacle device in accordance with  claim 10  wherein the aperture shape is a U-shape and the canister covers having complementary upwardly projecting U-shaped ridges to align with the aperture openings. 
   
   
       12 . The personal hygiene wipe dispenser and waste receptacle device in accordance with  claim 1  wherein the mounting plate mount elements are formed as rails and wherein the upper and lower compartment engaging elements are tabs configured for cooperative engagement with the mount elements. 
   
   
       13 . The personal hygiene wipe dispenser and waste receptacle device in accordance with  claim 1  wherein the upper compartment and the lower compartment have front and side walls and wherein one or both of the front and side walls have a band fitted therein. 
   
   
       14 . The personal hygiene wipe dispenser and waste receptacle device in accordance with  claim 1  wherein the device is formed from a polymeric material. 
   
   
       15 . A canister for use in a personal hygiene wipe dispenser and waste receptacle device, the device having a lower compartment for storing a waste receptacle and a opening in an upper surface to access the waste receptacle, the device further including a mounting plate integral with the lower compartment and an upper compartment mountable to the mounting plate and configured for storing a plurality of wipes, the upper compartment having an upper surface having at least two apertures therein, each configured for dispensing some of the wipes therethrough, the upper compartment defining an interior region for receiving a plurality of the canisters, the upper compartment being removable from the mounting plate by disengaging the upper compartment from the mounting plate, the canister comprising:
 a tubular body have an upper edge and a sealed bottom;   a cover to substantially seal the canister when the cover is in place, the cover having a thin membrane therein having a resealing opening therein.   
   
   
       16 . The canister in accordance with  claim 15  wherein the resealing opening is formed by at least a pair of slits in the membrane configured to reseal onto a wipe as the wipe is pulled from the canister through the opening. 
   
   
       17 . The canister in accordance with  claim 15  wherein the canister has an oval cross-section. 
   
   
       18 . The canister in accordance with  claim 15  including a lip extending upwardly from the cover configured to cooperate with and fit into the one of the apertures of the upper compartment. 
   
   
       19 . A roll of wipes for use in a canister for use in a personal hygiene wipe dispenser and waste receptacle device, the device having a lower compartment for storing a waste receptacle and a opening in an upper surface to access the waste receptacle, the device further including a mounting plate integral with the lower compartment and an upper compartment mountable to the mounting plate and configured for storing a plurality of wipes, the upper compartment having an upper surface having at least two apertures therein, each configured for dispensing some of the wipes therethrough, the upper compartment defining an interior region for receiving a plurality of the canisters, the upper compartment being removable from the mounting plate by disengaging the upper compartment from the mounting plate, the canister having a tubular body have an upper edge and a sealed bottom, the roll of wipes comprising:
 an elongate strip of soft, pliable material having a length, and formed into a roll, the material having weakened regions at predetermined distances along the length so as to separate dispensed sections of the material from the remainder of the material on the roll, the dispensed sections pulled from a central region of the roll.   
   
   
       20 . The roll of wipes in accordance with  claim 19  wherein the roll has an oval cross-section.
