Abstract

A groover extension device, used to avoid the time-consuming, physically stressful step of removing a carriage assembly, or other machine assembly, from a power machine when attaching a grooving machine to said power machine. By use of the extension device ample space is created in order for the physical mass of the carriage to physically remain in place on a power machine and still allow the power machine to be connected to a grooving machine to supply it with locomotive power to perform its grooving functions. The extension may be adapted to fit connect various types of machinery to various types of apparatuses that provide means of locomotive power.

1 . A device comprising an extension for connecting at least one locomotion supplying apparatus.

The device comprising an extension for connecting at least one locomotion supplying apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein said extension is of sufficient length that adequate space is created between said apparatus and said locomotion supplying apparatus to allow for at least one apparatus assembly may remain mounted to said locomotion supplying apparatus, even when said apparatus will receive transferred locomotion from said locomotion supplying apparatus. 
   
   
       3 . The device comprising an extension for connecting at least one locomotion supplying apparatus of  claim 2  wherein said extension comprises a first end and a second end. 
   
   
       4 . The device comprising an extension for connecting at least one locomotion supplying apparatus of  claim 3 , wherein said first end further comprises a bulge protruding out of the exterior of said extension, wherein said bulge forms a handle about the exterior of said first end. 
   
   
       5 . The device comprising an extension for connecting at least one locomotion supplying apparatus of  claim 4 , wherein said first end comprises a first form that removably attaches to a mounting member of said apparatus, and said second end comprises a second form that removably attaches to a mounting member of said locomotion supplying apparatus. 
   
   
       6 . The device comprising an extension for connecting at least one locomotion supplying apparatus of  claim 5 , wherein said first form comprises a solid multi-sided shape and said second form comprises a hollowed out multi-sided shape. 
   
   
       7 . The device comprising an extension for connecting at least one locomotion supplying apparatus of  claim 6 , wherein said first form further comprises a solid six-sided shape and, wherein said second form further comprises a hollowed out six-sided shape. 
   
   
       8 . The device comprising an extension for connecting at least one locomotion supplying apparatus of  claim 7 , wherein said extension comprises one continuous member. 
   
   
       9 . The device comprising an extension for connecting at least one locomotion supplying apparatus of  claim 8 , wherein said extension comprises a plurality of component members. 
   
   
       10 . A device comprising a groover extension for connecting at least one locomotion supplying apparatus.

The device comprising a groover extension for connecting at least one locomotion supplying apparatus of  claim 10 , wherein said groover extension is of sufficient length that adequate space is created between said grooving machine and said locomotion supplying apparatus to allow for at least one machine assembly to remain mounted to said locomotion supplying apparatus, even when said groover will receive transferred locomotion from said locomotion supplying apparatus. 
   
   
       12 . The extension for connecting a grooving machine to a locomotion supplying apparatus of  claim 11 , wherein said extension comprises a first end and a second end.

The extension for connecting a grooving machine to a locomotion supplying apparatus of  claim 12 , wherein said extension further comprises a bulge protruding out of an exterior portion of said extension located substantially close to said first end, so as to form a handle about the exterior of said extension between said bulge and said first end.

The extension for connecting a grooving machine to a locomotion supplying apparatus of  claim 13 , wherein said first end comprises a form capable of removably attaching to a mounting member of said grooving machine, and said second end comprises a form capable of removably attaching to a mounting member of said locomotion supplying apparatus. 
   
   
       15 . The extension for connecting a grooving machine to a locomotion supplying apparatus of  claim 14 , wherein said first form comprises a solid multi-sided shape and said second form comprises a hollowed out multi-sided shape. 
   
   
       16 . The extension for connecting a grooving machine to a locomotion supplying apparatus of  claim 15 , wherein said first form further comprises a solid six-sided shape and, wherein said second form further comprises a hollowed out six-sided shape. 
   
   
       17 . The extension for connecting a grooving machine to a locomotion supplying apparatus of  claim 16 , wherein said extension comprises one continuous member. 
   
   
       18 . The extension for connecting a grooving machine to a locomotion supplying apparatus of  claim 16 , wherein said extension comprises a plurality of component members. 
   
   
       19 . A method utilizing a groover extension to avoid the process of removing an apparatus assembly from a locomotion supplying apparatus, wherein said locomotion supplying apparatus is removably attached to a grooving apparatus, wherein said method comprises the steps of:
 attaching a groover extension member by a first end to a groover-to-locomotion apparatus attachment member; and   attaching a second end of said groover extension member to a locomotion-apparatus attachment member.   
   
   
       20 . The method of utilizing a groover extension to avoid the process of removing an apparatus assembly from a locomotion supplying apparatus wherein said locomotion supplying apparatus is removably attached to a grooving apparatus of  claim 19 , wherein said locomotion supplying apparatus is a power machine.
