The composition may be constituted as a spray composition, lotion, paste, or other compositional form. Pests that may be usefully combated with such composition include mosquitoes, ticks, cockroaches, thrips, deer fly, gnats, and aphids.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 .- 33 . (canceled)
. A method of combating pests at a locus containing or susceptible to the presence of same, said method comprising applying to at least a portion of said locus a pest repellent composition comprising a pest combating effective amount of undecanone and soy methyl ester.
. The method of claim 34 wherein the locus comprises one or more plant.
. The method of claim 34 wherein the locus is a human or non-human animal.
. The method of claim 34 wherein the composition is topically applied to the locus.
. The method of claim 37 wherein said topical application is via spraying.
. The method of claim 34 wherein the pest is an insect.
. The method of claim 34 herein said pest is selected from mosquitoes, ticks, cockroaches, thrips, deer fly, gnats, and aphids.
. The method of claim 34 herein the applied pest-combating composition further comprises at least one of coconut oil, glycerin, and citric acid.
. The method of claim 34 herein the soy methyl ester in said applied pest-combating composition comprises a mixture of C 16 -C 18 saturated and C 18 unsaturated methyl esters.
. The method of claim 34 wherein the soy methyl ester in said applied pest-combating composition comprises an emulsified form, and optionally comprises at least one additional ingredient selected from the group consisting of fillers, dispersants, water, non-aqueous solvent media, surfactants, suspension agents, sticking agents, stabilizers, preservatives, dyes, pigments, masking agents, emollients, excipients, and post-application detection agents.
. The method of claim 34 wherein the applied pest-combating composition further comprises coconut oil.
. The method of claim 34 wherein the applied pest-combating composition further comprises glycerin.
. The method of claim 34 wherein the applied pest-combating composition further comprises citric acid.
. The method of claim 34 wherein the pest-combating composition contains an amount of soy methyl ester ranging from about 2% to about 15% by weight, based on total weight of the composition.
. The method of claim 34 wherein the pest-combating composition contains an amount of soy methyl ester ranging from about 2.4% to about 12% by weight, based on total weight of the composition.
. The method of claim 34 wherein the pest-combating composition contains an amount of soy methyl ester ranging from about 3% to about 10% by weight, based on total weight of the composition.
. The method of claim 34 wherein the pest-combating composition contains about 2%-15% by weight of soy methyl ester, based on total weight of the composition, and said composition further contains at least one of purified water, coconut oil, glycerin, geranium oil, citric acid, lecithin, sodium bicarbonate and vanilla.
. The method of claim 34 wherein the pest-combating composition contains about 2 to about 15% by weight of soy methyl ester, and from about 8 to about 30% by weight of undecanone, wherein said weights are based on total weight of the composition.
. The method of claim 51 wherein the pest-combating composition further contains at least one of water, coconut oil, glycerin, geranium oil, citric acid, lecithin, sodium bicarbonate and vanilla.
. The method of claim 34 wherein the applied pest-combating composition does not contain DEET.
. The method of claim 34 wherein the applied pest-combating composition is formulated as a lotion composition suitable for topical administration to skin or hair.
. The method of claim 54 wherein the applied pest-combating composition further is formulated as a sunblock composition for administration to skin, and contains a sunscreen agent.
. The method of claim 54 wherein the applied pest-combating composition suitable for topical administration to skin or hair comprises at least 2% of soy methyl ester and at least 8% of undecanone.
. The method of claim 34 wherein the pest-combating composition is formulated as a spray composition, said composition including from about 2 to about 15% by weight of soy methyl ester, and from about 8 to about 30% by weight of undecanone, wherein said weights are based on total weight of the composition, and said composition further including at least one of water, coconut oil, glycerin, geranium oil, citric acid, lecithin, sodium bicarbonate and vanilla.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
