Abstract
The invention provides isolated nucleotide sequences from Xenorhabdus nematophila species Xs86068, and, in particular, nucleotide sequences that encode insect inhibitory proteins, the insecticidal proteins, and compositions that comprise one or more of the insecticidal proteins for use in controlling insect infestation.

19 . A substantially purified nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleic acid sequence having at least 90% sequence identity with SEQ ID NO: 2894 or the complement thereof.
20 . The substantially purified nucleic acid molecule of claim 19 , wherein said nucleic acid sequence has at least 95% sequence identity with SEQ ID NO: 2894 or the complement thereof.
21 . The substantially purified nucleic acid molecule of claim 19 , wherein said nucleic acid sequence has at least 98% sequence identity with SEQ ID NO: 2894 or the complement thereof.
22 . The substantially purified nucleic acid molecule of claim 19 , wherein said nucleic acid sequence is 100% identical to SEQ ID NO: 2894 or the complement thereof.
23 . A substantially purified polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence having at least 90% sequence identity with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9002 or the complement thereof.
24 . The substantially purified polypeptide of claim 23 , wherein said amino acid sequence has at least 95% sequence identity with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9002 or the complement thereof.
25 . The substantially purified polypeptide of claim 23 , wherein said amino acid sequence has at least 98% sequence identity with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9002 or the complement thereof.
26 . The substantially purified polypeptide of claim 23 , wherein said amino acid sequence is 100% identical with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9002 or the complement thereof.
27 . A substantially purified nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleic acid sequence having at least 90% sequence identity with SEQ ID NO: 2895 or the complement thereof.
28 . The substantially purified nucleic acid molecule of claim 27 , wherein said nucleic acid sequence has at least 95% sequence identity with SEQ ID NO: 2895 or the complement thereof.
29 . The substantially purified nucleic acid molecule of claim 27 , wherein said nucleic acid sequence has at least 98% sequence identity with SEQ ID NO: 2895 or the complement thereof.
30 . The substantially purified nucleic acid molecule of claim 27 , wherein said nucleic acid sequence is 100% identical to SEQ ID NO: 2895 or the complement thereof.
31 . A substantially purified polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence having at least 90% sequence identity with the sequence amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9003 or the complement thereof.
32 . The substantially purified polypeptide of claim 31 , wherein said amino acid sequence has at least 95% sequence identity with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9003 or the complement thereof.
33 . The substantially purified polypeptide of claim 31 , wherein said amino acid sequence has at least 98% sequence identity with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9003 or the complement thereof.
34 . The substantially purified polypeptide of claim 31 , wherein said amino acid sequence is 100% identical with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9003 or the complement thereof.
35 . A transgenic plant comprising in its genome a substantially purified nucleic acid molecule which comprises:
(1) a 5′ non-coding sequence which functions in a plant to cause the production of a mRNA molecule; which is operably linked to (2) a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence with at least 90% sequence identity with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9002 or the complement thereof; which is linked to (3) a 3′ non-translated sequence that functions in said plant to cause termination of transcription.
36 . A transgenic plant comprising in its genome substantially purified nucleic acid molecule which comprises:
(1) a 5′ non-coding sequence which functions in a plant to cause the production of a mRNA molecule; which is operably linked to (2) a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence with at least 90% sequence identity with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9003 or the complement thereof; which is linked to (3) a 3′ non-translated sequence that functions in said plant to cause termination of transcription.
37 . A transformed seed comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence with at least 90% sequence identity with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 9002 or the complement thereof.
