Wast receptacle
Abstract
A waste receptacle comprising a cylindrical body portion including a body portion thereof which is movable between open and closed positions. The body portion has a trash container support provided at the lower end thereof which extends inwardly therefrom for supporting a trash container thereon. When the body portion is in its closed position, the trash container is positioned within the waste receptacle. When the body portion is pivotally moved outwardly with respect to the receptacle, the trash container moves outwardly from within the waste receptacle to a position outwardly thereof to facilitate removal of the trash container from the trash container support on the lower end of the body portion.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A waste receptacle, comprising:
a base portion for positioning on a support surface; a first semi-circular body portion having upper and lower ends, first and second side edges and inner and outer sides; said first semi-circular body portion being secured at its said lower end to said base portion and extending upwardly therefrom; a trash receiving cover having a central opening secured to said upper end of said first semi-circular body portion; a second semi-circular body portion having upper and lower ends, first and second side edges, and inner and outer sides; said second semi-circular body portion being pivotally secured about a vertical axis adjacent its said first side edge to said first semi-circular body portion adjacent said second side edge thereof; said second semi-circular body portion being selectively pivotally movable between open and closed positions with respect to said first semi-circular body portion; said first and second semi-circular body portions forming a cylindrical body when said second semi-circular body portion is in its said closed position; said upper end of said second semi-circular body portion body portion being positioned below a portion of said trash receiver's cover when said second semi-circular body portion is in its said closed position; a trash container support secured to said lower end of second semi-circular body portion which extends inwardly therefrom and which is adapted to have a trash container removably positioned thereon; said second semi-circular body portion, when in its said closed position, supporting the trash container within said cylindrical body; the movement of said second semi-circular body portion from its said closed position to its said open position causing the trash container to be moved from within said cylindrical body to a position outwardly of said first semi-circular body portion whereby the trash container may be removed from said trash container support.
2 . The waste receptacle of claim 1 wherein said first semi-circular body portion includes a plurality of vertically disposed and horizontally spaced-apart first bars and wherein said second semi-circular body portion includes a plurality of vertically disposed and horizontally spaced-apart second bars.
3 . The waste receptacle of claim 2 wherein a first ring-shaped frame member is secured to said upper ends of said first bars.
4 . The waste receptacle of claim 3 wherein a second ring-shaped frame member is secured to said upper ends of said second bars, said second ring-shaped member being positioned below said first ring-shaped frame member when said second semi-circular body portion is in its closed position.
5 . The waste receptacle of claim 4 wherein an upper semi-circular support is secured to said upper ends of said second bars at the inner sides thereof.
6 . The waste receptacle of claim 5 wherein a lower semi-circular support is secured to said lower ends of said second bars at the inner sides thereof.
7 . The waste receptacle of claim 6 wherein said trash container support is secured to said lower semi-circular support and extends horizontally inwardly therefrom.
8 . The waste receptacle of claim 1 wherein a lower semi-circular support is secured to said lower end of said second body portion at the inner side thereof and wherein said trash container support is secured to said lower semi-circular support and extends horizontally inwardly therefrom.
9 . The waste receptacle of claim 2 wherein a lower semi-circular support is secured to said lower ends of said second bars and wherein said trash container support is secured to said lower semi-circular support and extends inwardly therefrom.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
