Abstract

The invention is directed to an isomerization catalyst containing an intermediate pore size molecular sieve, a metal or metals selected from the group consisting of Ca, Cr, Mg, La, Ba, Pr, Sr, K and Nd which are effective in raising the isomerization selectivity, and additionally loaded with a Group VIII metal or metals for hydrogenation purposes.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A dewaxing catalyst suitable for use in a process for dewaxing a hydrocarbon feed to produce an isomerized product, comprising:
a one-dimensional 10 ring molecular sieve with pores having a minor axis between about 4.2 Å and about 4.8 Å and a major axis between about 5.0 Å and about 7.0 Å; a refractory inorganic oxide carrier; at least one metal selected from the group consisting of Ca, Cr, Mg, La, Ba, Na, Pr, Sr, K, and Nd; and a Group VIII metal.

2 . The catalyst of claim 1 , wherein the molecular sieve is selected from the group consisting up SAPO-11, SAPO-31, SAPO-41, SM-3 and SM-6.

3 . The catalyst of claim 1 , wherein the molecular sieve is selected from the group consisting of MTT-, TON- and FER-type molecular sieves.

4 . The catalyst of claim 3 , wherein the molecular sieve is a MTT-type molecular sieve.

5 . The catalyst of claim 4 , wherein the MTT-type molecular sieve is selected from the group consisting of SSZ-32, ZSM-23, EU-13, ISI-4, and KZ-1.

6 . The catalyst of claim 3 , wherein the molecular sieve is a TON-type molecular sieve.

7 . The catalyst of claim 6 , wherein the TON-type molecular sieve is selected from the group consisting of Theta-1, ISI-1, KZ-2, NU-10, and ZSM-22.

8 . The catalyst of claim 3 , wherein the molecular sieve is a FER-type molecular sieve.

9 . The catalyst of claim 8 , wherein the FER-type molecular sieve is selected from the group consisting of FU-9, ZSM-35, ISI-6 and NU-23.

10 . The catalyst of claim 1 , wherein the refractory inorganic oxide is selected from the group consisting of alumina and silica.

11 . The catalyst of claim 1 , wherein Group VIII metals are selected from the Group consisting of platinum, palladium, and mixtures thereof.

12 . The catalyst of claim 1 , wherein, the molecular sieve content of catalyst is from about 5 to about 60 wt. %.
