Abstract
To provide a recording and reproducing apparatus capable of storing AV data reliably during recording and capable of reading the AV data reliably during reproducing even when the communication state between the video camera and a network is bad, the recording and reproducing apparatus neither failing to record nor reproduce AV data, the recording and reproducing apparatus improving the recording reliability and reproduction reliability of AV data. With a unit for determining whether the communication state is good or bad, the recording and reproducing reliability is improved by carrying out recording and reproducing of AV data to a hard disk of the recording and reproducing apparatus by utilizing a built-in hard disk when the communication state is bad.

a transmitting and receiving unit that transmits recorded information comprising image information input from an image sensor and audio information input from an audio input unit to other equipment or receives reproduction information from other equipment; a recording medium for recording the recorded information; a reproducing unit that reproduces reproduction information received by the transmitting and receiving unit and information recorded on the recording medium; and a recording and reproducing control unit that monitors a transmission and reception status of the transmitting and receiving unit, an information recordable capacity of the other equipment, and a recordable capacity of the recording medium, respectively, and carries out a recording control of the recorded information or a reproduction control of reproduction information.
2 . A recording and reproducing apparatus, comprising:
an image sensor and an audio input unit; a stream data generator that converts image information input from the image sensor and audio information input from the audio input unit into stream data; a transmitting and receiving unit that transmits and receives the stream data generated by the stream generation means to and from other equipment; a recording medium for recording the stream data generated by the stream generator; a recording and reproducing unit for recording and reproducing the stream data that is recorded on the recording medium; a transmission and reception status monitoring unit for monitoring a transmission and reception status of the transmitting and receiving unit; a storage capacity monitoring unit for monitoring a storage capacity of other equipment; a recording capacity monitoring unit for monitoring a recording capacity of the recording medium; and a recording and reproducing procedure setting unit that sets up recording and reproducing procedures of the stream data generated by the stream data generator; the apparatus performing a recording and reproducing control of stream data based on: recording and reproducing procedure setting information set by the recording and reproducing procedure setting unit; a transmission and reception status monitored by the transmission and reception status monitoring unit; a storage status monitored by the storage capacity monitoring unit; and a recording status monitored by the recording capacity monitoring unit.
3 . The recording and reproducing apparatus according to claim 2 , further comprising a selector for prompting a user to select a plurality of recording and reproducing control patterns, the apparatus performing a recording and reproducing control of stream based on:
recording and reproducing control pattern selection information selected by the selector; a transmission and reception status monitored by the transmission and reception status monitoring unit; a storage status monitored by the storage capacity monitoring unit; and a recording status monitored by the recording capacity monitoring unit.
4 . The recording and reproducing apparatus according to claim 3 , including a function to, when the stream data generated by the stream data generator is not stored on a storage unit of other equipment but is recorded on the recording medium,
to determine, from the transmission and reception status monitored by the transmission and reception status monitoring unit, that transmission and reception can be normally performed, and to automatically transfer a stream recorded on the recording medium to the storage unit.
5 . The recording and reproducing apparatus according to claim 3 , including a function to store automatic data-deletion period information for automatically deleting data recorded on the recording medium in advance, and
when the stream data generated by the stream generator is stored on a storage unit of other equipment and is recorded also on the recording medium, to delete the stream recorded on the recording medium if a recording date of the stream recorded on the recording medium is recorded before a period of the automatic data-deletion period information.
6 . The recording and reproducing apparatus according to claim 3 , wherein time and date, and the number of times when an error occurs during data transmission and reception are used in determining a transmission and reception status monitored by the transmission and reception status monitoring unit.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
