Abstract

A method for receiving at least one of advisory information and vehicle control information in a vehicle-mounted system, comprising: receiving at least one of advisory information and vehicle control information from a transmitting unit using a receiving unit; determining whether the at least one of the advisory information and the vehicle control information is directed to the receiving unit; and if the at least one of the advisory information and the vehicle control information is directed to the receiving unit, outputting the at least one of the advisory information and the vehicle control information.

1 . A method for receiving at least one of advisory information and vehicle control information in a vehicle-mounted system, comprising:
 receiving at least one of advisory information and vehicle control information from a transmitting unit using a receiving unit;   determining whether the at least one of the advisory information and the vehicle control information is directed to the receiving unit; and   if the at least one of the advisory information and the vehicle control information is directed to the receiving unit, outputting the at least one of the advisory information and the vehicle control information.   
   
   
       2 . A method as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the transmitting unit is associated with law enforcement. 
   
   
       3 . A method as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the advisory information is audibly output in the vehicle. 
   
   
       4 . A method as recited in  claim 3 , wherein the advisory information is based on a live voice transmission. 
   
   
       5 . A method as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the vehicle control information is output to a control interface for shutting down an engine of the vehicle. 
   
   
       6 . A method as recited in  claim 1 , wherein the vehicle control information is output to a control interface for at least one of controlling brakes of the vehicle, controlling steering of the vehicle, and controlling acceleration of the vehicle. 
   
   
       7 . A method as recited in  claim 6 , wherein a remote user controls the at least one of the shutting down the engine of the vehicle, the brakes of the vehicle, the steering of the vehicle, and the acceleration of the vehicle.
