Oil pump cover

Abstract

In oil pump cover for a motor vehicle oil pump is provided that includes, but is not limited to a cover for covering a part of the motor vehicle oil pump. The oil pump cover further includes, but is not limited to an oil suction channel which can be connected to the interior of the motor vehicle oil pump. The oil suction channel is designed in one piece with the cover. The oil suction channel is designed in such a manner that a suction opening for suction of oil in the built-in state is disposed adjacent to a lower base of an oil pan. Manufacture and assembly is simplified through this simplified one-piece structure of the oil pump cover.

1 . An apparatus for a motor vehicle oil pump, comprising:
 a cover for covering a part of the motor vehicle oil pump; and   an oil suction channel adapted for connection to an interior of the motor vehicle oil pump,   wherein the oil suction channel is one piece with the cover and the oil suction channel is adapted such that a suction opening for suction of oil in a built-in state is disposed adjacent to a lower base of an oil pan.   
     
     
         2 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the oil suction channel is tapered from a suction opening toward the cover. 
     
     
         3 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the cover comprises connecting openings for fastening the cover to the motor vehicle oil pump. 
     
     
         4 . The apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the cover is formed at least partially from compression casting. 
     
     
         5 . A motor vehicle oil pump for supplying an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle with oil, comprising:
 a housing;   a cover for covering the housing; and   an oil suction channel adapted for connection to an interior of the motor vehicle oil pump,   wherein the oil suction channel is one piece with the cover and the oil suction channel is adapted such that a suction opening for suction of oil in a built-in state is disposed adjacent to a lower base of an oil pan; and   a pump system disposed in the interior of the motor vehicle oil pump.   
     
     
         6 . The motor vehicle oil pump according to  claim 5 , wherein an oil sump adapted to receive oil is formed by at least one of the housing or the cover through which a pump wheel of the pump system can be moved. 
     
     
         7 . The motor vehicle oil pump according to  claim 5 , wherein the oil suction channel is connected to the interior of the motor vehicle oil pump at a geodesically substantially lowest position in the built-in state.
