Abstract

The invention relates to a pharmaceutical active ingredient preparation for producing a medicament that contains thrombin or has a thrombin-generating capacity and compositions comprising thereof. The inventive preparation contains: (A) prothrombin obtained from plasma or by means of genetic engineering (coagulation factor II), (B) coagulation factors V, VIII, IX, X obtained from plasma or by means of genetic engineering, which can be at least partially in the activated state, and coagulation factor X1a obtained from plasma or by means of genetic engineering, and (C) phospholipids which are safe from prions and contribute to the clotting process, said phospholipids being optionally contained in liposomes.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 36 . (canceled)

37 . A method for the manufacture of a pharmaceutical preparation containing thrombin characterized in that a pharmaceutical substance capable of generating thrombin is mixed with Ca ions, resulting in a thrombin-containing product which is subsequently purified by chromatography.

38 . A method according to claim 37 wherein the pharmaceutical preparation is rendered virally safe by virus inactivation during or after thrombin generation as well as virus partitioning after thrombin generation is complete.

       39 - 52 . (canceled)
