Selvedge Tucker for Weft Threads
Abstract
A selvedge tucker for the formation of a cloth edge in a weaving machine is presented which includes a selvedge tucking needle and a first drive implemented as an electrical drive which moves the selvedge tucking needle during normal operation of the weaving machine for tucking one or more weft thread ends into a shed formed on the weaving machine, wherein the selvedge tucker includes a second drive moving the selvedge tucking needle into a safe position in the event of a disturbance of the first drive and/or a deactivation of the first drive in order to prevent accidental contact between the selvedge tucking needle and other components of the weaving machine.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . Selvedge tucker for the formation of a cloth edge in a weaving machine including a selvedge tucking needle and a first drive implemented as an electrical drive which moves the selvedge tucking needle during normal operation of the weaving machine for tucking one or more weft thread ends into a shed formed on the weaving machine, wherein the selvedge tucker includes a second drive moving the selvedge tucking needle into a safe position in the event of a disturbance of the first drive and/or a deactivation of the first drive in order to prevent accidental contact between the selvedge tucking needle and other components of the weaving machine.
2 . Selvedge tucker in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the second drive includes a mechanical and/or pneumatic drive.
3 . Selvedge tucker in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the second drive is implemented as a mechanical and/or pneumatic drive.
4 . Selvedge tucker in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the second drive includes at least one mechanical or pneumatic spring.
5 . Selvedge tucker in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the selvedge tucking needle or a shaft which is connected to the selvedge tucking needle is pivotally and/or displaceably mounted.
6 . Selvedge tucker in accordance with claim 1 , including an active connection between the first drive and the selvedge tucking needle and/or a shaft which is connected to the selvedge tucking needle in order to displace the selvedge tucking needle forward or backward by means of the first drive; as well as an additional compulsory guide for the selvedge tucking needle and/or for the shaft, said compulsory guide producing a pivotal movement of the selvedge tucking needle upon forward or backward displacement of the selvedge tucking needle.
7 . Selvedge tucker in accordance with claim 1 , including an active connection between the first drive and the selvedge tucking needle and/or a shaft which is connected to the selvedge tucking needle in order to pivot the selvedge tucking needle by means of the first drive; as well as an additional compulsory guide for the selvedge tucking needle and/or for the shaft, said compulsory guide producing a forward or backward displacement of the selvedge tucking needle upon pivoting of the selvedge tucking needle.
8 . Selvedge tucker in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the first drive includes at least one electrical coil and at least one permanent magnet as well as a pivotal axis about which the coil or the permanent magnet is pivotally journalled.
9 . Selvedge tucker in accordance with claim 1 , additionally including a holding device for holding the selvedge tucking needle in a safe position in the event of a disturbance.
10 . Weaving machine comprising a selvedge tucker in accordance with claim 1 .Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
