Abstract

A pull handle assembly includes an outer handle having two outer shanks each provided with at least one locking hole, a positioning hole and a limit hole located between the locking hole and the positioning hole, an inner handle having two inner shanks each having a lower end provided with a locking bore and a through bore, and two locking mechanisms each mounted on a respective inner shank. Thus, when each of the locking mechanisms is releasably locked by the limit hole of the respective outer shank, a finger space is defined between the inner handle and the outer handle to receive a user's fingers to so as to prevent the user's fingers from being clipped and hurt due to a rapid lowering action of the inner handle.

2 . The pull handle assembly in accordance with claim 1 , wherein each of the two locking mechanisms includes
a housing having a side provided with a hole; a cover combined with the housing and having a side provided with a bore; a slide movable horizontally between the housing and the cover and having a top provided with a tapered driven face; a locking rod mounted on a first side of the slide, extending through the hole of the housing and the locking bore of the respective inner shank of the inner handle and releasably locked in the at least one locking hole or the positioning hole of the respective outer shank of the outer handle; a locking bar mounted on a second side of the slide and movable to extend through the bore of the cover and the through bore of the respective inner shank of the inner handle into the limit hole of the respective outer shank of the outer handle; a push member movably mounted between the housing and the cover and having a first portion movable vertically in the housing and the cover and provided with a tapered drive face abutting the tapered driven face of the slide and a second portion protruding outwardly from the housing and the cover.

3 . The pull handle assembly in accordance with claim 1 , wherein each of the two locking mechanisms is received in the lower end of the respective inner shank of the inner handle and is movable in the respective outer shank of the outer handle.

4 . The pull handle assembly in accordance with claim 2 , wherein each of the two locking mechanisms further includes a first spring mounted on the locking bar and biased between the cover and the slide to push the locking bar to space from the bore of the cover and to push the locking rod toward the hole of the housing.

5 . The pull handle assembly in accordance with claim 4 , wherein each of the two locking mechanisms further includes
a fixing pin mounted on the second portion of the push member; a second spring mounted on the second portion of the push member and biased between the fixing pin and the housing and the cover to push the push member upward and to detach the tapered drive face of the push member from the tapered driven face of the slide.

6 . The pull handle assembly in accordance with claim 2 , wherein the housing of each of the two locking mechanisms has an inside provided with a chamber connected to the hole to receive the slide, the push member and the first spring.

7 . The pull handle assembly in accordance with claim 2 , wherein the cover of each of the two locking mechanisms has an inside provided with a space connected to the bore to receive the slide, the push member and the first spring.

8 . The pull handle assembly in accordance with claim 4 , wherein the second side of the slide of each of the two locking mechanisms is provided with an annular groove surrounding the locking bar for mounting the first spring.

9 . The pull handle assembly in accordance with claim 2 , wherein the locking bar and the locking rod of each of the two locking mechanisms are co-axial with each other and are directed toward two opposite directions.

10 . The pull handle assembly in accordance with claim 1 , wherein
the at least one locking hole and the positioning hole of each of the two outer shanks of the outer handle are in line with each other; the limit hole of each of the two outer shanks of the outer handle is located opposite to the at least one locking hole and the positioning hole.

11 . The pull handle assembly in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the limit hole of each of the two outer shanks of the outer handle has an elongate shape.

12 . The pull handle assembly in accordance with claim 1 , wherein
the locking bore of each of the two inner shanks of the inner handle is in line with the at least one locking hole and the positioning hole of the respective outer shank of the outer handle; the through bore is located opposite to the locking bore and is in line with the limit hole of the respective outer shank of the outer handle.

13 . The pull handle assembly in accordance with claim 2 , further comprising
a press switch movably mounted on the top of the inner handle; two links each movable in a respective inner shank of the inner handle and each having an upper end driven by the press switch and a lower end provided with a press portion that is movable to press the second portion of the push member to push the push member downward and to move the tapered drive face of the push member toward the tapered driven face of the slide.

14 . The pull handle assembly in accordance with claim 5 , wherein
each of the two locking mechanisms is movable downward to a position where the locking bar of each of the two locking mechanisms aligns with the limit hole of the respective outer shank of the outer handle; the slide of each of the two locking mechanisms is driven by the push member to move toward the cover to drive the locking bar of each of the two locking mechanisms to extend through the bore of the cover and the through bore of the respective inner shank of the inner handle into the limit hole of the respective outer shank of the outer handle so as to lock the respective inner shank of the inner handle onto the respective outer shank of the outer handle, thereby locking the inner handle onto the outer handle.

15 . The pull handle assembly in accordance with claim 14 , wherein the finger space is defined between the top of the inner handle and the top of the outer handle when the locking bar of each of the two locking mechanisms is locked in the limit hole of the respective outer shank of the outer handle.
