Abstract

A gateway device includes a third block communicating information, and a control unit controlling the third block so as to generate second information representing an operation of an air conditioner and to transmit the second information to the air conditioner based on first information representing control contents of the air conditioner received by the third block. Accordingly, an apparatus connected to a network and absent of a high-level circuit can be controlled at high level.

1 . A remote control device for establishing radio communication with a relay device, said relay device including a storage unit for storing a plurality of application programs respectively directed to control of appliances, comprising:
 a transmission unit for transmitting first signals to said relay device;   a reception unit for receiving second signals from said relay device;   a display displaying a screen; and   a control unit controlling said remote control device to communicate with said relay device by said first and second signals, said control unit including,   a first transmission control unit for transmitting said user identification information identifying a user operating said remote control device and control device identification information identifying said remote control device,   a first reception control unit for receiving a plurality of application menus respectively indicating said plurality of application programs,   a first display control unit for causing said display unit to display said plurality of application menus,   a selection unit selecting one of said plurality of application menus displayed at said display unit in response to a first instruction from said user,   a second transmission control unit for transmitting said selected application menu to said relay device,   a second reception control unit for receiving, from said relay device, application operation information from said application program corresponding to said selected application menu,   a second display control unit for causing said display unit to display an operation screen based on said application operation information,   an operation determination unit for determining an operation with respect to said application program based on a second instruction from said user, and   a third transmission control unit for transmitting to said relay device instruction information corresponding to said determined operation determined.   
   
   
       2 . The remote control device according to  claim 1 , wherein
 said application operation information includes internal state information of said appliance under control of said application program, and   said second display control unit causes said display unit to said internal state information.   
   
   
       3 . The remote control device according to  claim 1 , wherein
 said application operation information includes internal state information of said appliance under control of said application program, and time information corresponding to measurement of said internal state information, and   said second display control unit causes said display unit to display said internal state information and said time information.
