Abstract

Provided is an activity toy configured to allow for a primary image, such as a photograph, to be converted into a fun and amusing secondary image in a manner that does not harm the original primary image. The toy may be used by children to decorate photographs with decorative devices, such as markers or stickers, without permanently marking the underlying photograph. Provided systems for use with both traditional and digital images.

1 . A photograph costuming system comprising:
 a. a photograph, the photograph comprising:
 i. a primary image, and 
 ii. a protective covering, wherein the protective covering is:
 1. substantially transparent, and 
 
 2. configured to encapsulate the photograph; 
   b. a frame, the frame being configured to:
 i. releasably receive the photograph, and 
 ii. display the photograph to a user; and 
   c. at least one decorating device, the at least one decorating device being operably configured for association with the protective covering to alter the appearance of the photograph to form a secondary image.   
   
   
       2 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the protective covering comprises plastic laminate material. 
   
   
       3 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one decorating device is detachably coupled to the protective covering to form the secondary image. 
   
   
       4 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the frame further comprises a protective pane, wherein the protective pane is substantially transparent and configured to provide a receiving surface for the at least one decorating device. 
   
   
       5 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the decorating device is selected from the group consisting of a magnet, a marker, a writing instrument, a sticker, paint, felt, a suction cup, make-up, hair, glitter, glue, beads, dry-erase markers, vinyl objects configured to releasably adhere to a surface, objects comprising adherent backing, and combinations thereof. 
   
   
       6 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one decorating device is configured to be utilized by a user to temporarily alter the appearance of the photograph. 
   
   
       7 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the primary image is the outline of a face and the at least one decorative device comprises detachable facial features. 
   
   
       8 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the frame further comprises a storage compartment configured to store the photograph and the at least one decorating device. 
   
   
       9 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the photograph comprises an image selected from the group consisting of an image of the user, an image of the user's mother, an image of the user's father, an image of the user's sibling, an image of the user's relative, and combinations thereof. 
   
   
       10 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the photograph comprises an image selected from the group consisting of an image of a cartoon character, an image of a professional athlete, an image of an actor, an image of an actress, and combinations thereof. 
   
   
       11 . The system of  claim 1 , further comprising a container, the container being configured to house the photograph, the frame, and the at least one decorating device. 
   
   
       12 . A photograph costuming system comprising:
 a. a plurality of photographs, each of the plurality of photographs comprising:
 i. a primary image, and 
 ii. a protective covering, wherein the protective covering is:
 1. substantially transparent, and 
 2. configured to encapsulate the photograph; 
 
   b. an album, the album comprising a plurality of pages, wherein each of the plurality of pages comprises a pocket, the pocket being configured to releasably receive one of the plurality of photographs; and   c. at least one decorating device, the at least one decorating device being operably configured for association with the protective covering to alter the appearance of the photograph to form a secondary image.   
   
   
       13 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein the at least one decorating device is configured to be applied directly to the protective covering. 
   
   
       14 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein the pocket further comprises a protective pane, the protective pane being
 a. substantially transparent; and   b. configured to substantially cover the photograph.   
   
   
       15 . The system of  claim 14 , wherein the at least one decorating device is configured to be applied directly to the protective pane. 
   
   
       16 . The system of  claim 12 , further comprising a container, the container being configured to house the photograph, the album and the at least one decorating device. 
   
   
       17 . A photograph costuming system comprising:
 a. a storage device;   b. at least one digital image, the digital image:
 i. comprising a primary image, and 
 ii. being initially stored on the storage device; 
   c. a digital display device, the digital display device comprising:
 i. a screen, the screen being operably configured to display the at least one digital image, 
 ii. a protective pane, the protective pane being:
 1. substantially transparent, and 
 2. configured to substantially cover the screen, and 
 
 iii. a port, the port being configured to allow communication between the storage device and the digital display device to facilitate transfer of the digital image from the storage device to the digital display device; and 
   d. at least one decorating device, the at least one decorating device being operably configured for association with the digital display device to alter the appearance of the photograph to form a secondary image.   
   
   
       18 . The system of  claim 17 , wherein the storage device is selected from the group consisting of a digital camera, a memory card, a memory stick, and combinations thereof. 
   
   
       19 . The system of  claim 17 , further comprising a container, the container being configured to house the storage device, the digital display device, and the at least one decorating device. 
   
   
       20 . The system of  claim 17 , wherein the digital display device further comprises a digital camera, wherein the digital camera is integral with the digital display device.
