A crib sheet

Abstract

The removable crib sheet is comprised of a moisture proof layer, an upper layer of an adsorbent material and a lower layer of an absorbent material. The moisture proof layer is comprised of a moisture proof sheet with a moisture absorbent sheet on each side of the moisture proof sheet which have been attached together through the use of ultrasonic technologies or through the use of adhesives which can withstand being cycled through a washer and a dryer. Adjacent the exterior surface of each absorbent layer there can be a soft material layer and/or a less soft material layer. The peripheral edge of the moisture proof layer, upper absorbent layer and the lower absorbent layer are attached together on the peripheral edge. The attaching can be by stitching, adhesive bonding or by heat bonding. While at least the moisture proof layer and the upper and lower layers of absorbent material are stitched or heat bonded together at the periphery, the soft material layers can be included. A bias tape peripheral edging also can be used. The peripheral edge of the combined layers has means to attach the crib sheet to a crib or other support such as the mattress. The attachment means can be through the use of ties that are secured to the peripheral edge or through the use of snaps, VELCRO® or equivalent attaching techniques. The crib sheet can be used attached to a crib or other support or it can be used as a stand alone unit away from home.

An easily removed sheet for a crib comprising a layer of a moisture proof material having on a first side a first moisture absorbent layer and on a second side a second moisture absorbent layer, one of a soft fabric material layer or a less soft fabric material on an exterior side of the first moisture absorbent layer, one of a soft fabric material or a less soft fabric material layer on the exterior side of the second absorbent layer, the moisture proof layer, the first moisture absorbent layer and the second moisture absorbent layer being attached to form at least a three layer structure throughout the entire surface of the moisture proof layer, the first moisture absorbent layer and the second moisture absorbent layer, the at least three layer structure having at least one means emanating from the peripheral edge thereof to attach the easily removed sheet to a crib, bed, or other securing mechanisms designed to work with the crib sheet. 
   
   
       2 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 1  wherein both layers of the soft fabric material layer and the less soft fabric material layer are attached to the at least three layer structure to form an at least five layer structure. 
   
   
       3 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 1  wherein the moisture proof layer is a plastic sheet. 
   
   
       4 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 3  wherein the moisture proof layer is perforated. 
   
   
       5 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 2  wherein the moisture proof layer is comprised of a plastic selected from the group consisting of ethylene polymers and copolymers, propylene polymers and copolymers, vinyl polymers and copolymers, urethane polymers and copolymers, and polyester polymers. 
   
   
       6 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 5  wherein the plastic is comprised of a vinyl polymer or copolymer. 
   
   
       7 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 5  wherein the plastic is a polyester polymer. 
   
   
       8 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 1  wherein the absorbent layer comprises at least a polymeric material. 
   
   
       9 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 1  wherein the absorbent layer comprises at least a cellulosic material. 
   
   
       10 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 1  wherein the absorbent layer comprises a polymeric layer and a cellulosic layer. 
   
   
       11 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 1  wherein at least one of the soft fabric material layer or less soft fabric material layer on the first side of the moisture proof layer is a soft fabric material layer. 
   
   
       12 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 11  wherein at least one of the soft fabric material layer or less soft fabric material layer on the second side of the moisture proof layer is a less soft fabric material layer. 
   
   
       13 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 11  wherein at least one of the soft fabric material layer or less soft fabric material layer on the second side of the moisture proof layer is a soft fabric material layer 
   
   
       14 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 1  wherein the soft fabric material is at least partially comprised of a cotton material. 
   
   
       15 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 14  wherein the cotton material is one of a flannel material or a terry material. 
   
   
       16 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 14  wherein the cotton material is comprised of a combined cotton and synthetic material. 
   
   
       17 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 10  wherein the soft fabric material is at least partially comprised of a wool material. 
   
   
       18 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 17  wherein the wool material is comprised of a combined wool and synthetic material. 
   
   
       19 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 1  wherein the at least one means for securing and easily removing is at least one tie strip. 
   
   
       20 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 1  wherein the at least one means for securing and easily removing is a loop. 
   
   
       21 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 1  wherein the at least one means for securing and easily removing is a Velcro®. 
   
   
       22 . An easily removed sheet for a crib as in  claim 1  wherein the at least one means for securing and easily removing is a snap.
