Multi function wrapper

Abstract

The invention refers to a packing wrapper ( 2 ) for an absorbent article ( 1 ), the wrapper ( 2 ) comprising a protective layer ( 5 ). The invention is characterised in that the wrapper ( 2 ) comprises also a first functional layer ( 3 ) attached to the protective layer ( 5 ) giving the wrapper ( 2 ) a multiple functionality.

A packing wrapper for an absorbent article, the wrapper comprising a protective layer, characterized in that wherein the wrapper comprises also a first functional layer attached to the protective layer and giving the wrapper a multiple functionality wherein the first functional layer is positioned on the face of the wrapper facing the absorbent article or on that face of the wrapper facing away from the absorbent article. 
     
     
         2 . The packing wrapper according to  claim 1 , wherein a second functional layer is positioned on the opposite side of the wrapper with reference to the first functional layer. 
     
     
         3 . The packing wrapper according to  claim 2 , wherein the second functional layer is a wiping layer and/or a transfer layer.

         5 . The packing wrapper according to  claim 2 , wherein the protective layer and the first functional layer form separate layers attached to each other and/or that protective layer and the second functional layer form separate layers attached to each other. 
     
     
         6 . The packing wrapper according to  claim 2 , wherein the protective layer is coated onto the first functional layer and/or that the protective layer is coated onto the second functional layer. 
     
     
         7 . packing wrapper according to  claim 1 , wherein the first functional layer is loosely attached to the protective layer thereby forming a pocket between the protective layer and the first functional layer. 
     
     
         8 . The packing wrapper according to  claim 1 , wherein the first functional layer is a wiping layer and/or a transfer layer. 
     
     
         9 . The packing wrapper according to  claim 1 , wherein the wrapper is used for packing a single absorbent article or used for packing a plurality of absorbent articles or used as a main wrapper for packing a number of absorbent articles each being packed in the wrapper.

The packing wrapper according to  claim 2 , wherein the first or second functional layer comprises an additive in the form of an active substance for treatment of the body such as a lotion, or an anti-bacterial substance, or a moisturiser, or soap, or an odour-control agent, or a perfume, or a skincare agent, or a lactic acid producing bacteria, or any other suitable substance or active agent. 
     
     
         11 . The packing wrapper according to  claim 2 , wherein the first or second functional layer comprises an active substance suitable for cleaning surfaces.

The packing wrapper according to  claim 2 , wherein the first or second functional layer comprises an active substance which can be activated by contact with water or heat or in contact with air or can be activated by mechanical action such as breaking of a capsulated unit.

The packing wrapper according to  claim 1 , wherein the wrapper comprises two separating layers positioned between two protective layers, the two separating layers separating the two protective layers so that the wrapper may be split into two units each unit comprising a first and/or a second functional layer, a protective layer and a separating layer respectively. 
     
     
         14 . The packing wrapper according to  claim 13 , wherein the separating layers are attached to the protective layers only partly and being separated forming a pocket so that each unit comprises can be used for using each unit as a glove. 
     
     
         15 . The packing wrapper according to  claim 2 , wherein the wrapper comprises a release layer laminated onto the first and/or the second functional layer. 
     
     
         16 . The packing wrapper according to  claim 1 , wherein the protective layer is water and/or moist impermeable and/or has low friction and is dirt repellent. 
     
     
         17 . The packing wrapper according to  claim 1 , wherein the protective layer is made from an air-tight material being moisture and water impermeable. 
     
     
         18 . The packing wrapper according to  claim 1 , wherein the protective layer is made from an elastic material and/or a thermoplastic material.

The packing wrapper according to  claim 1 , wherein the absorbent article has a protective release layer being positioned on the liquid pervious topsheet of the absorbent article or that only a part of the wrapper constitutes the first functional layer and that the first functional layer is positioned against the liquid impervious backsheet of the absorbent article.
