Abstract

A pool cleaning robot adapted for climbing a sidewall of a pool and comprising a bottom and two side panels. The robot is adapted for moving in a direction substantially parallel to the side panels. At least one of the side panels comprises a freely-rotating roller located adjacent to the bottom of the robot.

       13 . A filter unit for use with a pool cleaning robot, said filter unit comprising a bottom panel having at least one robot inlet, and a rigid frame having frame walls, one of said frame walls being a top wall, and all other frame walls being disposed substantially transverse to the bottom panel and extending between the top wall of the frame and the bottom panel; at least a part of one of said frame walls constituting a filter detachably secured to the frame; said frame and at least a portion of said bottom panel defining therebetween an enclosed volume in fluid communication with at least one of said robot inlets. 
   
   
       14 . A filter unit according to  claim 13 , wherein said robot inlet is formed within said portion of the bottom panel. 
   
   
       15 . A filter until according to  claim 13 , wherein said filter comprises a rigid filter screen. 
   
   
       16 . A filter unit according to  claim 13 , wherein said frame comprises at least one cleaning outlet. 
   
   
       17 . A filter unit according to  claim 16 , wherein said at least one cleaning outlet is adapted, when the filter unit is installed in a pool cleaning robot, to be blocked to exit therethrough of water.
