Portable information terminal

Abstract

An objective of the present invention is to provide a slide type portable information terminal having a favorable internal packaging efficiency and a compact shape. A first body and a second body, each having a wedge shaped outer appearance, where a dimension in the depth direction gradually becomes thinner from one side to the other side in the width direction, are slidably coupled via a slide mechanism to constitute a body. As for the body, when the first body and the second body are overlapped, a part of the second body having the thickest dimension in the depth direction is arranged on one side of the front surface of the first body, as well as a part of the first body having the thickest dimension in the depth direction is arranged on one side of the rear of the second body, and a camera unit is arranged in the portion with thickest dimension in the depth direction of the first body.

1 . A portable information terminal comprising:
 a body including a first body and a second body;   a slide mechanism for coupling the first body and the second body to be slidable;   a camera unit for taking a image;   a display section that arranged on the front surface of the first body;   a first input keys section arranged adjacent to the display section on the first body;   a second input keys section arranged on the front surface of the second body; and   a screen changeover switch for changing a direction of an image displayed on the display section, wherein,   the slide mechanism couples the first body and the second body so as to take a first state where the second input keys section is covered with the first body by sliding the first body and the second body, and the second input keys section is exposed by sliding the first body and the second body,   the camera unit is arranged on a surface of the body exposed in any of the first and the second states,   the first input keys section has a key set as a shutter key operating the camera unit when image taking with the camera unit is performed,   the screen changeover switch changes the direction of the image displayed on the display section in conjunction with the operation of the slide mechanism.   
   
   
       2 . The portable information terminal according to  claim 1 , wherein,
 each of the first body and the second body constitutes a thin and flat body where a dimension in width direction is larger than a dimension in depth direction, as well as the dimension in height direction is larger than the dimension in width direction,   the display section is formed to be a rectangular where the dimension in height direction is larger than the dimension in width direction,   the first input keys section is arranged adjacent to the display section in width direction.   
   
   
       3 . The portable information terminal according to  claim 2  wherein,
 the screen changeover switch is controlled so as to display horizontally the image on the display in the first state and display vertically the image on the display in the second state.   
   
   
       4 . The portable information terminal according to  claim 3 , wherein, the camera unit is arranged on a backside of the second body.
