Roasting apparatus
Abstract
A cooking system having an oven including an interior heating space within an enclosure formed by a top wall, a bottom wall, a rear wall, a left side wall, a right side wall and a door for accessing the interior heating space wherein the oven further includes a radiant burner assembly adjacent the top wall and the oven further including a drawer assembly located adjacent the bottom wall and having a series of rollers for supporting a food product during operation of the oven. The drawer assembly includes a motor operatively connected thereto for causing the series of rollers to rotate, whereby the food product can be rotated on said rollers during operation of the oven.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A cooking system for preparation of food products, the system comprising
a) an oven including an interior heating space within an enclosure formed by a top wall, a bottom wall, a rear wall, a left side wall, a right side wall and a door for accessing said interior heating space; b) said oven further includes a radiant burner assembly adjacent said top wall; c) said oven further including a drawer assembly located adjacent said bottom wall, said drawer assembly having a series of rollers for supporting a food product during operation of said oven; d) said drawer assembly including a motor operatively connected thereto for causing said series of rollers to rotate, whereby said food product can be rotated on said rollers during operation of said oven.
2 . The cooking system as set forth in claim 1 , comprising;
a) said drawer assembly having slides mounted on a left side and a right side and connected to said left side wall and said right side wall of said oven, respectively and adapted to facilitate sliding movement of said drawer assembly.
3 . The cooking system as set forth in claim 1 , wherein;
a) said motor is fixedly connected to said drawer assembly and is adapted to move with said drawer assembly.
4 . The cooking system as set forth in claim 1 , wherein;
a) each of said rollers of said series of rollers is removable from said drawer assembly.
5 . The cooking system as set forth in claim 1 , wherein;
a) said drawer assembly includes a removable drip pan located under said series of rollers.
6 . The cooking system as set forth in claim 1 , further comprising;
a) a support mounted at a front end of said drawer assembly for supporting said drawer assembly when said drawer assembly is moved outwardly from said enclosure.
7 . A movable drawer assembly for use with a roasting oven, said drawer assembly comprising:
a) a movable enclosure having a front wall, a right side wall, a left side wall and a rear wall and a series of rollers extending between said side walls; b) said rollers being rotable and adapted to support a food product; c) a motor mounted on one of said side walls and being adapted to rotate said series of rollers.
8 . The movable drawer assembly as set forth in claim 7 , further comprising:
a) a set of sprockets mounted in said drawer assembly b) said set of sprockets adapted for transmitting rotational movement from said motor to said series of rollers.
9 . The movable drawer assembly as set forth in claim 8 , wherein:
a) said set of sprockets are mounted on the same side of said enclosure as the motor.
10 . The movable drawer assembly as set forth in claim 7 , wherein:
a) said enclosure is connected to an oven interior by right and left glides which permit said enclosure to be extended from said oven interior.
11 . The movable drawer assembly as set forth in claim 10 , wherein:
a) said motor is movable with said enclosure.
12 . The movable drawer assembly as set forth in claim 7 , wherein:
a) said series of rollers are removable from said enclosure.
13 . The movable drawer assembly as set forth in claim 8 , wherein:
a) said left side wall and said right side wall form a roller rack; b) each of said rollers includes an elongated, round central tube extending substantially from said left side wall to said right side wall, each of said rollers having a support extending from each end for resting each of said rollers on said roller rack; c) said roller rack includes a series of slots for receiving and retaining said supports.
14 . The movable drawer assembly as set forth in claim 13 , wherein:
a) one of said sprockets is mounted on each one of said supports on one side of said enclosure; b) each of said sprockets is engaged by a chain to a drive sprocket, and c) said drive sprocket is rotatable by a drive shaft extending from said motor.
15 . The movable drawer assembly as set forth in claim 7 , further comprising:
a) a drip pan located beneath said series of rollers; b) said drip pan is removably mounted in said enclosure.
16 . A method of cooking a food product comprising the steps of:
a) withdrawing a roller rack having a plurality of rollers from an oven; b) placing a food product on said roller rack; c) sliding said roller rack into said oven; d) operating said roller rack to turn the food product during cooking; e) applying heat from a radiant heat source located above said roller rack to apply heat to and cook the food product.
17 . The method of cooking a food product wherein the step of operating said roller rack includes:
a) using an electric motor and a set of sprockets to turn said plurality of rollers during cooking of the food product.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
