Abstract

The present invention relates to laundry machines, such as dryers or washing machines, and more particularly, to a laundry machine in which a mounting position of at least an input unit or a display unit of a controller can be changed. The present invention suggests a variety of forms in which at least a component such as a motor or a main control unit in a body of the laundry machine is electrically connected to the changeable controlling unit.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A laundry machine comprising:
a body having a first connector and a second connector each electrically connected to at least a component inside the body; and a changeable controlling unit detachably mounted to a position of the body corresponding to the first or second connector selectively, and electrically connected to the first connector or the second connector, the changeable controlling unit having at least an input unit or a display unit.

2 . The laundry machine as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the changeable controlling unit includes a main control unit and the first connector and the second connector electrically connected to at least a motor providing rotation force to a drum.

3 . The laundry machine as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the component is a main control unit.

4 . The laundry machine as claimed in claim 3 , further comprising a jump connector electrically connected to the first connector and the second connector at one side, and electrically connected to the main control unit at another side.

5 . The laundry machine as claimed in claim 3 , further comprising a cable electrically connecting one common portion of the main control unit to the first connector and the second connector.

6 . The laundry machine as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the first connector and the second connector are connected to respective portions of the main control unit.

7 . The laundry machine as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the changeable controlling unit includes both the input unit and the display unit, and each of the first connector and the second connector is a integrated connector for being electrically connected to both the input and the display units.

8 . The laundry machine as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the changeable controlling unit includes a microcomputer, controlling the changeable controlling unit, exchanging data with a microcomputer in the main control unit.

9 . The laundry machine as claimed in claim 1 , wherein each of the first connector and the second connector includes a connector housing of a fire-retardant material and a plurality of pins housed in the connector housing.

10 . The laundry machine as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising a connector cover of a fire-retardant material covering the first connector or the second connector, selectively.

11 . The laundry machine as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising a cover panel mounted to one of positions corresponding to the first connector or the second connector in a case the changeable controlling unit is mounted to the other one of the positions.

12 . Dual laundry machines having to laundry machines arranged horizontally or vertically, at least one of the laundry machines comprising:
a body having a first connector and a second connector each electrically connected to at least a component inside the body; and a changeable controlling unit detachably mounted to a position of the body corresponding to the first or second connector selectively, and electrically connected to the first connector or the second connector, the changeable controlling unit having at least an input unit or a display unit.
