Claims
Abstract
A head actuator assembly of a disk device has a suspension which supports a head, an arm which supports the suspension and is rotatably supported by a bearing portion, signal wires which extend on the suspension and the arm and are connected electrically to the head, and a board unit. In manufacture, the signal wires are mounted on the suspension and the arm, and a connecting end portion of the board unit is connected to the signal wires mounted on the suspension and the arm. Thereafter, the head is mounted on the suspension and connected electrically to the signal wires.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of manufacturing a head actuator assembly comprising:
mounting signal wires on suspensions and arms; assembling the suspensions, the arms, and a sleeve with no bearing unit to form an assembly; connecting a connecting end portion of a board unit to the signal wires mounted on the suspensions and the arms; cleaning the assembly and the connected board unit; and after cleaning, fitting a bearing unit in the sleeve, mounting heads on the suspensions and connecting the heads electrically to the signal wires which are connected to the connecting end portion of the board unit.

The method of manufacturing a head actuator assembly according to claim 1 , wherein after performing the assembling of the assembly and the connecting the connecting end portion of the board unit in a first environment, the fitting of the bearing unit into the sleeve and the mounting of the heads on the suspensions are performed in a second environment which has a degree of cleanness higher than that of the first environment.
3 . The method of manufacturing a head actuator assembly according to claim 2 , wherein the bearing unit is loaded into the sleeve after the heads are mounted on the suspensions.
4 . The method of manufacturing a head actuator assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the mounting the heads includes tacking the arms attached to the sleeve in positions staggered by a margin larger than the width of each head in the rotating direction of the heads, and after mounting the heads on the suspensions, locating the arms in opposite positions and fixing to the sleeve.
5 . A method of manufacturing a disk device, which has a case, a disk-shaped recording medium located in the case, a drive unit which supports and drives the recording medium, a magnetic head, and a head actuator assembly, the method comprising:
manufacturing the head actuator assembly by the method of manufacturing a head actuator assembly according to claim 1 ; and locating the head actuator assembly in a predetermined position in the case in a clean room.

The method of manufacturing a head actuator assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the head actuator assembly includes heads, suspensions, a bearing portion which has a sleeve and a bearing unit fitted in the sleeve, arms, signal wires connected electrically to the heads, and a board unit having a connecting end portion connected to the signal wires.
7 . A method of manufacturing a head actuator assembly comprising:
mounting signal wires on suspensions and arms; assembling the suspensions, the arms, and a bearing portion; connecting a connecting end portion of a board unit to the signal wires mounted on the suspensions and the arms; and mounting heads on the suspensions and connecting the heads electrically to the signal wires which are connected to the connecting end portion of the board unit, the mounting the heads including tacking the arms attached to the bearing portion in positions staggered by a margin larger than the width of each head in the rotating direction of the heads, and after mounting the heads on the suspensions, locating the arms in opposite positions and fixing to the bearing portion.
8 . The method of manufacturing a head actuator assembly according to claim 7 , wherein the head actuator assembly includes heads, suspensions, arms, a bearing portion, signal wires connected electrically to the heads, and a board unit having a connecting end portion connected to the signal wires.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
