Container including an interactive game board and blank for making the same

Abstract

A container constructed from a blank of foldable sheet material is provided. The container includes an interactive board game. The container further includes a top wall and an opposing bottom wall, a back wall and an opposing front wall, and a pair of opposing side walls. A game board is included on at least one of the walls, and at least one game piece is removably defined within one of the walls. The game piece is removable from the wall and is movable on the game board. The container further includes a game event indicator included on one of the walls. The game event indicator indicates an event occurring within the board game.

1 . A container constructed from a blank of foldable sheet material, said container including an interactive board game, said container comprising:
 a top wall and an opposing bottom wall, a back wall and an opposing front wall, and a pair of opposing side walls;   a game board included on at least one of said walls;   at least one game piece removably defined within one of said walls, wherein said at least one game piece is removable from said wall and is movable on said game board; and   a game event indicator included on one of said walls, said game event indicator indicating an event occurring within the board game.   
     
     
         2 . A container in accordance with  claim 1  further comprising a scoreboard printed on at least one of said walls. 
     
     
         3 . A container in accordance with  claim 1  wherein said game event indicator further comprises indicia printed on said game board for indicating an occurrence within the board game. 
     
     
         4 . A container in accordance with  claim 3  wherein said indicia further indicates at least one of a score, a number of points, a movement, and a sequence of game play within the board game. 
     
     
         5 . A container in accordance with  claim 1  wherein said game event indicator further comprises a move indicator, wherein said move indicator includes a rectangular-shaped move area comprising a length, a width, and a plurality of segments extending consecutively from a first end of said move area to a second end of said move area, wherein at least two of the segments include a number printed therein corresponding to a number of spaces a player is to move on said game board. 
     
     
         6 . A container in accordance with  claim 5  wherein a first game piece is slid by a player from the first end of said move area toward the second end of said move area, the number included on the segment where said game piece stops is the number of spaces the corresponding player moves on said game board. 
     
     
         7 . A container in accordance with  claim 5  wherein said game board further comprises indicia printed on said game board indicating at least one event occurring within the board game, said indicia comprising a plurality of spaces including a start space, a finish space, and at least one space extending between said start space and said finish space, wherein at least one of said move indicator and said indicia printed on said board game prompt a player to move a game piece. 
     
     
         8 . A container in accordance with  claim 1  wherein said game board further comprises first indicia representing a football field, and wherein said game event indicator further comprises second indicia printed on said game board representing at least one event occurring within a football game. 
     
     
         9 . A container in accordance with  claim 8  wherein said second indicia including at least one of a touchdown, a kick-off, a two-point conversion zone, and an extra point, wherein said game event indicator further comprises a football game piece for sliding along the football field such that a location where said football game piece stops on the football field and said second indicia corresponding to the location indicate an event occurring within the football game. 
     
     
         10 . A container in accordance with  claim 1  wherein said game board further comprises a golf game representative of a portion of a golf course, and wherein said game event indicator further comprises indicia printed on said game board for indicating an event occurring within the golf game. 
     
     
         11 . A container in accordance with  claim 10  wherein said game event indicator further comprises indicia printed on said game board for indicating at least one of a safe area and a penalty area, wherein a game piece representative of a golf ball is slid by a player to one of said areas. 
     
     
         12 . A container in accordance with  claim 10  wherein said container further comprises at least one opening representative of a golf hole defined through said game board, wherein said game piece representative of a golf ball is slid along said game board toward said at least one opening for awarding a player a score. 
     
     
         13 . A container in accordance with  claim 1  wherein said game board further comprises a soccer game, and wherein said game event indicator further comprises indicia printed on said game board for indicating an event occurring within the soccer game. 
     
     
         14 . A container in accordance with  claim 13  wherein said container further comprises at least one opening representative of a soccer goal defined through said game board, wherein a soccer ball game piece is slid toward said at least one opening for awarding a goal to a player. 
     
     
         15 . A container in accordance with  claim 1  wherein said game board further comprises first indicia representing a baseball field, and wherein said game event indicator further comprises second indicia printed on said game board representing at least one event occurring within a baseball game. 
     
     
         16 . A container in accordance with  claim 15  wherein said second indicia including at least one of a single, a double, a triple, a home run, an out, a double play, a ground out, and a pop fly out, wherein said game event indicator further comprises a baseball game piece for sliding along the baseball field such that a location where said baseball game piece stops on the baseball field and said second indicia corresponding to the location indicate an event occurring within the baseball game. 
     
     
         17 . A container in accordance with  claim 15  wherein two of said walls are arcuate walls such that said arcuate walls define a curved wall. 
     
     
         18 . A method of constructing a container from a blank of foldable sheet material, wherein the container includes an interactive board game, said method comprising:
 providing a blank including a plurality of panels connected along a plurality of fold lines;   providing a game board included on at least one of the panels;   providing at least one game piece removably defined within one of the panels;   providing a game event indicator included on at least one of the panels; and   forming the container by folding the blank along the plurality of fold lines, the container having a top wall and an opposing bottom wall, a back wall and an opposing front wall, and a pair of opposing side walls.   
     
     
         19 . A method in accordance with  claim 18  wherein providing a game board included on at least one of the panels further providing a game board by at least one of printing, stapling, and adhering the game board to the at least one panel. 
     
     
         20 . A method in accordance with  claim 18  wherein providing a game board included on at least one of the panels further providing a game board including indicia representing at least one of a plurality of consecutive spaces, a football field, a golf course, a soccer field, and a baseball field. 
     
     
         21 . A method in accordance with  claim 18  wherein providing a game event indicator included on at least one of the panels further comprises providing a game event indicator including indicia indicating at least one of a score, a number of points, a movement, and a sequence of game play within the board game. 
     
     
         22 . A method in accordance with  claim 18  wherein providing a game event indicator included on at least one of the panels further comprises providing a game event indicator including a move indicator including a rectangular-shaped move area including a length, a width, and a plurality of segments extending consecutively from a first end of said move area to a second end of said move area, wherein at least two of the segments include a number printed therein corresponding to a number of spaces a player is to move on the game board.
