Abstract

Various exemplary metadirectories, systems and/or methods include or allow for executing a software module on an execution engine, emitting semantic information based on the executing, and analyzing the executing using the semantic information. An exemplary execution engine includes an input for receiving software modules, an output for emitting semantic information, and an output for outputting generated output information. Upon execution, an exemplary software module may cause processing of information in a metadirectory and emitting of semantic information pertaining to the processing. Various exemplary metadirectories, systems and/or methods emit and/or store semantic information in a self-defining language, an extensible language, and/or a markup language. Other exemplary metadirectories, systems, and/or methods are also disclosed.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method for synchronizing information implemented at least in part by a machine, the method comprising:
synchronizing information in a metadirectory, wherein the synchronizing comprises emitting semantic information in an extensible markup language, the semantic information comprising information related to metadirectory operations on metadata in the metadirectory; and receiving the semantic information and enabling analysis of the synchronizing using the semantic information, wherein the enabling the analysis comprises executing a graphical preview module on the execution engine, the graphical preview module displaying indicia of the metadirectory operations before the metadirectory operations are committed to the metadirectory.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the synchronizing comprises at least one process selected from the group consisting of joining, projecting and flowing.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the synchronizing comprises joining and the analyzing displays at least one member selected from the group consisting of join rules, object types, script contexts, resolutions, status criteria, status conditions, and matches.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the synchronizing comprises projecting and the analyzing displays at least one member selected from the group consisting of statuses, rules, and object types.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the synchronizing comprises flowing and the analyzing displays at least one member selected from the group consisting of statuses, directory attributes, metadirectory attributes, initial values, and final values.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the synchronizing comprises connector filtering and the analyzing displays at least one member selected from the group consisting of filters, statuses, directory attributes, values, operators, and compared values.

7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising displaying on a display device, information related to one or more synchronization processes, the method comprising:
receiving semantic information emitted during the one or more synchronization processes; and displaying on the display device information based at least in part on the semantic information.

8 . An execution engine implemented at least in part by a machine, the engine comprising:
an input for synchronizing information in a metadirectory, wherein the synchronizing comprises emitting semantic information in an extensible markup language, the semantic information comprising information related to metadirectory operations on metadata in the metadirectory; an input for receiving the semantic information and enabling analysis of the synchronizing using the semantic information, wherein the enabling the analysis comprises executing a graphical preview module on the execution engine, the graphical preview module displaying indicia of the metadirectory operations before the metadirectory operations are committed to the metadirectory; an output for emitting semantic information based on execution of at least one of the software modules for metadirectory services; an output for outputting generated output information that describes metadirectory operations of the executing service module; and an output for graphically previewing the output information wherein the previewing relies on execution of a preview module; wherein the output displays graphical preview indicia of the metadirectory operations before the metadirectory operations are committed to the metadirectory.

9 . The execution engine of claim 8 , wherein the execution engine executes software modules to administer a metadirectory.

10 . The execution engine of claim 8 , wherein the semantic information pertains to execution of a software module.

11 . The execution engine of claim 8 , wherein the semantic information comprises information in a self-defining language.

12 . The execution engine of claim 11 , wherein the self-defining language comprises a markup language.

13 . The execution engine of claim 12 , wherein the markup language comprises an extensible markup language.

14 . The execution engine of claim 13 , wherein the extensible markup language comprises XML.

15 . The execution engine of claim 8 , wherein the execution engine is configured to execute the semantic information.

16 . The execution engine of claim 8 , wherein the execution of the semantic information causes the engine to display information on a computer screen.

17 . One or more computer-readable storage media comprising computer-executable instructions that are executable by a processor to perform actions, comprising:
graphically previewing to a display information; processing information in a metadirectory; operating in an emit mode and in a non-commit mode; synchronizing information in a metadirectory, wherein the synchronizing comprises emitting semantic information in an extensible markup language, the semantic information comprising information related to metadirectory operations on metadata in the metadirectory; receiving the semantic information and enabling analysis of the synchronizing using the semantic information wherein the enabling the analysis comprises executing a graphical preview module on the execution engine, the graphical preview module displaying indicia of the metadirectory operations before the metadirectory operations are committed to the metadirectory; generating output information germane to a metadirectory; and previewing the output information wherein the previewing relies on execution of a preview module; wherein the output information displays indicia of the metadirectory operations before the metadirectory operations are committed to the metadirectory.

18 . The one or more computer-readable storage media of claim 17 , wherein the processing comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of staging, synchronizing and exporting.

19 . The one or more computer-readable storage media of claim 18 , wherein the staging communicates information pertaining to a directory from a data source.

20 . The one or more computer-readable storage media of claim 18 , wherein the synchronizing synchronizes information pertaining to a directory and a metadirectory.
