Portable Outdoor Cooking Device
Abstract
A portable outdoor cooking device assembly can include a structural support member, the structural support member including a plurality of components that are coupled together to form the structural support member. The example assembly can include an anchoring pin coupled to the structural support, and a cooking surface assembly, and a vertical adjustment mechanism coupled to the structural support member and the cooking surface assembly, the vertical adjustment mechanism allowing the spatial position of the cooking surface assembly to be vertically modified. The example assembly also includes a heat plate includes a concave space into which at least a portion of the cooking surface assembly is positioned, a motor coupled to the cooking surface assembly to spin the cooking surface assembly, and a power source connected to the motor to supply power to the motor.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A portable outdoor cooking device assembly, comprising:
a structural support member, the structural support member including a plurality of components that are coupled together to form the structural support member; an anchoring pin coupled to the structural support; a cooking surface assembly; a vertical adjustment mechanism coupled to the structural support member and the cooking surface assembly, the vertical adjustment mechanism allowing the spatial position of the cooking surface assembly to be vertically modified; a heat plate defining concave space into which at least a portion of the cooking surface assembly is positioned; a motor coupled to the cooking surface assembly to spin the cooking surface assembly; and a power source connected to the motor to supply power to the motor.
2 . The portable outdoor cooking device assembly of claim 1 , wherein the structural support member is generally hook-shaped.
3 . The portable outdoor cooking device assembly of claim 1 , wherein a swivel point is defined at an interface between the anchoring pin and structural support member such that the structural support member is pivotable about the swivel point.
4 . The portable outdoor cooking device assembly of claim 3 , wherein the cooking surface assembly is swiveled 360 degrees about the swivel point.
5 . The portable outdoor cooking device of claim 4 , wherein the cooking surface assembly is swiveled about the swivel point in both counterclockwise and clockwise directions.
6 . The portable outdoor cooking device assembly of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of components is coupled to a respective component using a slip/sleeve mechanism.
7 . The portable outdoor cooking device assembly of claim 1 , wherein one of the plurality of components is coupled in a telescoping manner with respect to another of the plurality of components.
8 . The portable outdoor cooking device assembly of claim 1 , wherein one of the plurality of components includes a plurality of accessory hooks.
9 . The portable outdoor cooking device assembly of claim 1 , wherein the vertical adjustment mechanism includes at least a handle, a cable, and a movable adjustment collar.
10 . The portable outdoor cooking device assembly of claim 9 , wherein the movable adjustment collar is positioned about the structural support member, and the cable is coupled to the handle and to the motor such that movement of the adjustment collar along the structural support member moves the cooking surface assembly vertically.
11 . The portable outdoor cooking device assembly of claim 1 , wherein the motor is configured to spin the cooking surface assembly at least 360 degrees in at least a counterclockwise direction or a clockwise direction.
12 . The portable outdoor cooking device assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a carrying case configured to store the structural support member, the anchoring pin, the cooking surface assembly, the vertical adjustment mechanism, the heat plate, and the motor.
13 . The portable outdoor cooking device of claim 12 , wherein the carrying case defines separate storage spaces for each of the structural support member, the anchoring pin, the cooking surface assembly, the vertical adjustment mechanism, the heat plate, and the motor.
14 . A method of assembling a portable outdoor cooking device, the method comprising:
assembling a structural support; inserting an anchoring pin into the structural support; fixing a vertical adjustment assembly to the structural support; fixing a cooking assembly to the vertical adjustment assembly; adjusting a vertical position of the cooking assembly; and swiveling the structural support so that the cooking assembly is positioned over a source of heat.
15 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising removing portable grill elements stored in a portable carrying case including at least disassembled portions of the structural support, the anchoring pin, the cooking assembly, and the vertical adjustment assembly.
16 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising assembling the vertical adjustment assembly, wherein the vertical adjustment assembly includes at least a handle, a cable, and an adjustment collar.
17 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising rotating the cooking assembly about an axis.
18 . A portable outdoor cooking device assembly, comprising:
a structural support member including a plurality of components that are coupled together to form the structural support member, wherein each of the plurality of components is coupled to a respective component using a slip/sleeve mechanism, and wherein the structural support member is generally hook-shaped; an anchoring pin coupled to the structural support; a cooking surface assembly; a vertical adjustment mechanism coupled to the structural support member and the cooking surface assembly, wherein the vertical adjustment mechanism includes at least a handle, a cable, and a movable adjustment collar, and wherein the vertical adjustment mechanism allows for the spatial position of the cooking surface assembly to be vertically modified; a heat plate defining concave space into which at least a portion of the cooking surface assembly is positioned; a motor coupled to the cooking surface assembly to spin the cooking surface assembly at least 360 degrees in at least a counterclockwise direction or a clockwise direction; a power source connected to the motor to supply power to the motor; a carrying case configured to store the structural support member, the anchoring pin, the cooking surface assembly, the vertical adjustment mechanism, the heat plate, and the motor, wherein the carrying case defines separate storage spaces for each of the structural support member, the anchoring pin, the cooking surface assembly, the vertical adjustment mechanism, the heat plate, and the motor; and wherein a swivel point is defined at an interface between the anchoring pin and structural support member such that the structural support member is pivotable 360 degrees in both counterclockwise and clockwise directions about the swivel point towards and away from a heat source.
19 . The portable outdoor cooking device assembly of claim 18 , wherein the movable adjustment collar is positioned about the structural support member, and the cable is coupled to the handle and to the motor such that movement of the adjustment collar along the structural support member moves the cooking surface assembly vertically.
20 . The portable outdoor cooking device assembly of claim 18 , wherein at least one of the plurality of components of the structural support member defines a plurality of telescope apertures along a longitudinal length of the component, wherein the cooking surface assembly is hinged so that a first portion of the cooking surface assembly folds onto a second portion of the cooking surface assembly, and wherein the portable outdoor cooking device further comprises a warming grate suspended above the cooking surface.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
