Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to a system and method for initiating a multiplayer gaming session by establishing a transaction at a communication device with a data object server, completing the transaction by obtaining one or more rights for multiplayer gaming from the data object server, and receiving one or more data objects at the communication device and at one or more additional communication devices for initiating a multiplayer gaming session. The one or more data objects further comprises the one or more rights and/or one or more references to obtain the one or more rights for multiplayer gaming, and the transaction further comprises identifying a predetermined number of participants. The system and method further comprise accepting, declining, postponing, or rescheduling the gaming session at the one or more data objects.

15 . A method for initiating a multiplayer gaming session, comprising:
establishing a first session at a communication device with one or more additional communication devices; establishing a second transaction session at the communication device with a data object server; completing the second transaction session by obtaining one or more rights for multiplayer gaming from the data object server; and receiving one or more data objects at the communication device for initiating a multiplayer gaming session.

16 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising sending the one or more data objects from the communication device to one or more additional communication devices.

17 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising establishing a multiplayer gaming session with one or more additional communication devices.

18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the gaming session is established directly between the communication devices.

19 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the gaming session is established as a plurality of sessions through a gaming server.

20 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the communication device comprises at least one of a wireless phone, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a smart phone, a desktop computer, a laptop notebook, and a gaming device.

21 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the one or more data objects comprises the one or more rights for multiplayer gaming.

22 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the one or more data objects comprises one or more references to obtain the one or more rights for multiplayer gaming.
