Abstract
A heat exchanger for cooling a high temperature gas leaving a reaction unit/device, including a coupling element to the reaction unit/device, a gas transportation and cooling pipe, and a covering shell.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 8 . (canceled)
9 . A heat exchanger for rapid cooling of a gas at high temperature, leaving a reaction unit/device, which comprises:
a coupling element to the reaction unit/device; a gas cooling and transportation pipe; and a covering shell, wherein the coupling element, substantially cylindrical, is situated between the reaction unit and the covering shell, is internally cooled by a cooling fluid, and is axially connected, by a pass-through duct, to a feeding line of hot gas coming from the reaction unit; wherein the gas cooling and transportation pipe is fixed to the base of the coupling element, connected to the reaction unit, at the pass-through duct, the gas cooling and transportation pipe including first and second sections:
wherein the first section, substantially linear, is inserted in a coaxial position into a second pipe having a larger diameter that jackets the first section, so as to form an annular hollow space in which the cooling fluid flows, an end of the first section forming the pass-through duct of the coupling element;
wherein the second section, fixed in a continuous manner to the first section, at the other end, substantially curved in a semicircle, spirally envelopes, without touching the second section, at least part of the first covered section;
wherein the covering shell is substantially cylindrical, closed at one end and open at the other end, is connected to the coupling element, and comprises at least the openings for discharging the cooling liquid and the cooled gas.
10 . The heat exchanger according to claim 9 , wherein the external pipe that jackets the first section of the transportation tube of the hot gas is connected, at one end, to one or more specific feeding ducts of the cooling liquid, which cross the coupling element.
11 . The heat exchanger according to claim 9 , wherein the coupling element comprises an independent duct that feeds the cooling liquid in correspondence with its axis, the cooling fluid being discharged by an opening connected to the side surface of the element itself, after following a spiral path from the inside outwards.
12 . The heat exchanger according to claim 9 , wherein the other end of the second pipe that covers the first section is free and ends with a curvilinear section, so that the cooling liquid can debouch freely, in the opposite direction, into the hollow space of the shell, after flowing in the jacket between the two pipes.
13 . The heat exchanger according to claim 9 , wherein the second section of the cooling and transportation pipe is essentially continuous to the first section, without interruptions, and develops in a spiral.
14 . The heat exchanger according to claim 9 , wherein the other end of the transportation pipe, the end of the spiral section, is connected to an opening on the cover for discharging the cooled gas outside the heat exchanger.
15 . The heat exchanger according to claim 9 , wherein the cooling shell has a substantially cylindrical form, with the base diameter substantially identical to that of the coupling element and larger than the diameter of the spirals.
16 . The heat exchanger according to claim 9 , wherein the cooling shell contains in its inner space pipe systems of the first and second section, the space being filled by the cooling liquid that is discharged from the exchanger through the proper discharge opening.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
