Advertisement system and method involving a mountable electronic device having an input device

Abstract

An advertisement system and method involving a mountable electronic device. The electronic device has a display device and a pivotable input device. The electronic device is configured to be operatively coupled to a network. By accessing the network, at least one advertisement image can be caused to be displayed by the display device.

1 . An advertisement system comprising:
 at least one advertisement image;   a server operatively coupled to a network; and   an electronic device operatively coupled to the server, the electronic device comprising:
 (a) a housing configured to be mounted to a support; 
 (b) a display device mounted to the housing; 
 (c) a processor configured:
 (i) to be operatively coupled to the server; and 
 (ii) to cause the display device to display the advertisement image; and 
 
 (d) an input device pivotably coupled to the housing, the input device comprising a typing portion. 
   
     
     
         2 . The advertisement system of  claim 1 , wherein the support is located within an environment controlled by a party, the advertisement system comprising a contract wherein the party permits the advertisement image to be displayed in the environment. 
     
     
         3 . The advertisement system of  claim 2 , wherein the environment comprises a home, and the party comprises a resident of the home. 
     
     
         4 . The advertisement system of  claim 2 , wherein the environment is selected from the group consisting of a multi-unit apartment building, a multi-unit apartment complex, a multi-unit condominium building, a multi-unit condominium complex, a house, residential housing, a dormitory, a hospital, a long term healthcare facility, a short term healthcare facility, a train station, a sports stadium, a concert hall, an entertainment hall, a parcel of real estate, a public park, and an amusement park. 
     
     
         5 . The advertisement system of  claim 1 , wherein: (a) the input device comprises a keyboard; and (b) the support comprises an upstanding structure. 
     
     
         6 . The advertisement system of  claim 5 , wherein: (a) the electronic device has a plurality of legs coupled to the housing, the legs being spaced apart from one another, each one of the legs extending downward from the housing, the input device being pivotably coupled to the legs; and (b) when the housing is mounted to the support, the input device is configured to be pivotable about an axis between: (i) a first position in which the typing portion is faced at least partially inward toward the upstanding structure; and (ii) a second position in which the typing portion is faced at least partially outward. 
     
     
         7 . An advertisement system comprising:
 a data storage device which stores a plurality of instructions which are executable to cause at least one advertisement image to be displayed by a display device of an electronic device, the electronic device comprising:
 (a) a housing configured to be mounted to a support; 
 (b) a display device mounted to the housing; and 
 (c) an input device pivotably coupled to the housing, the input device comprising a typing portion. 
   
     
     
         8 . The advertisement system of  claim 7 , wherein the support is located within an environment controlled by a party, the advertisement system comprising data associated with a contract wherein the party permits the advertisement image to be displayed in the environment. 
     
     
         9 . The advertisement system of  claim 8 , wherein the environment comprises a home, and the party comprises a resident of the home. 
     
     
         10 . The advertisement system of  claim 8 , wherein the environment is selected from the group consisting of a multi-unit apartment building, a multi-unit apartment complex, a multi-unit condominium building, a multi-unit condominium complex, a house, residential housing, a dormitory, a hospital, a long term healthcare facility, a short term healthcare facility, a train station, a sports stadium, a concert hall, an entertainment hall, a parcel of real estate, a public park, and an amusement park. 
     
     
         11 . The advertisement system of  claim 7 , wherein: (a) the input device comprises a keyboard; and (b) the electronic device comprises a plurality of legs coupled to the housing, the legs being spaced apart from one another, each one of the legs extending downward from the housing, the input device being pivotably coupled to the legs. 
     
     
         12 . The advertisement system of  claim 7 , wherein: (a) the support comprises an upstanding structure; and (b) when the housing is mounted to the support, the input device is configured to be pivotable about an axis between: (i) a first position in which the typing portion is faced at least partially inward toward the upstanding structure; and (ii) a second position in which the typing portion is faced at least partially outward. 
     
     
         13 . An advertisement method comprising:
 providing an electronic device to a party, wherein the electronic device comprises:
 (a) a housing configured to be mounted to a support; 
 (b) a display device mounted to the housing; 
 (c) a processor configured to be operatively coupled to a network; and 
 (d) an input device pivotably coupled to the housing, the input device comprising a typing portion; 
   receiving permission from the party to display at least one advertisement image on the display device; and   accessing the network to cause the advertisement image to be displayed on the display device.   
     
     
         14 . The advertisement method of  claim 13 , which comprises configuring the housing and the input device so as to enable a user to pivot the typing portion between a plurality of positions while the housing is mounted to the support, the plurality of positions comprising: (a) a first position in which the typing portion extends in a first plane which is substantially parallel with a screen of the display device; and (b) a second position in which the typing portion extends in a second plane which intersects with the first plane. 
     
     
         15 . The advertisement method of  claim 13 , which comprises enabling the support to be located within an environment controlled by a party, the advertisement system comprising data associated with a contract with the party relating to the permission. 
     
     
         16 . The advertisement method of  claim 15 , which comprises: (a) enabling the support to be located within a home; and (b) receiving the permission from a resident of the home pursuant to a contract. 
     
     
         17 . The advertisement method of  claim 15 , wherein the environment is selected from the group consisting of a multi-unit apartment building, a multi-unit apartment complex, a multi-unit condominium building, a multi-unit condominium complex, a house, residential housing, a dormitory, a hospital, a long term healthcare facility, a short term healthcare facility, a train station, a sports stadium, a concert hall, an entertainment hall, a parcel of real estate, a public park, and an amusement park. 
     
     
         18 . The advertisement method of  claim 13 , wherein: (a) the input device comprises a keyboard; and (b) the electronic device has a plurality of legs coupled to the housing, the legs being spaced apart from one another, each one of the legs extending downward from the housing, the input device being pivotably coupled to the legs. 
     
     
         19 . The advertisement method of  claim 13 , wherein the support comprises an upstanding structure. 
     
     
         20 . The advertisement method of  claim 19 , wherein, when the housing is mounted to the support, the input device is configured to be pivotable about an axis between: (a) a first position in which the typing portion is faced at least partially inward toward the upstanding structure; and (b) a second position in which the typing portion is faced at least partially outward.
